NBA Basketball Thread 2007-2008: Regular Season

Team Captain
-Davis to the Clippers reportedly, 5 years $65M. gay.
-Calderon's reported to have verbally agreed a new deal with the Raps. awesome.
-Josh Smith visiting the 76ers who are apparently ready and willing to use all their remaining cap space ($11M) on him. Dalembert/Smith combo would be pretty sick. add that to Iggy, Miller and a SG better than Willie Green and you've got a playoff team in the East.

They're a playoff team now, spending the rest of their cap on Smith would be retarded and won't make them much better than they are now.

Rony, why are you hating on the B-diddy deal, bro? Also, I'm dreading the JO trade.....they should've been the ones giving us a Goddamn pick, man.

The Nets had the best draft. Brook Lopez at #10? Steal. Charlotte is stupid for not taking a big man which they needed for frontcourt help.

It's good, but the Blazers ended up with ******* Jerryd Bayless. That's not fair. Seriously...

Bayless, Roy, Webster/Outlaw/a million other good role guys, Aldridge, Oden

UNFAIR!!!! I've been saying it the last 2 years, but if I was a super wealthy NBA owner, I would run my team JUST like Paul Allen runs the Blazers. Open the checkbook and start buying first rounders. Unbelievable, the Blazers needed a point guard, but not necessarily a main ball handler because of Roy, and then end up with someone as talented as Bayless. At least they didn't get Mayo, but Jerryd seems like a more grounded guy.

Not sure what the Grizz are going to do with Mayo, but I love Ovinton J'Anthony, great player. Conley, Mayo, Gay sounds good, but they have nothing in the front court. Seriously, is it going to be Warrick, Darko, and backed up by Marc Gasol? Yuck.

I disagree. If it works out the Raptors are instantly contenders. If it doesn't work, you're probably better than you were last year anyway because Calderon knows the team is HIS, and he doesn't have to worry about getting benched for TJ.

haha brand says he will resign with the clips, then bolts for the east for virtually the same amount of money. when will these teams learn...? there is no loyalty in the NBA. players chase championships and money. the only player I can think of that stayed with their team was garnett no matter how ****ty they were. i'm sure the fact that they paid him more money than he could ever spend had something to do with it though.

LOL... ouch milwaukee

Richard Jefferson going to Milwaukee …. HAHAHA! Oh man, now that is funny. When I heard that, I started laughing. Oh man, did I start laughing. You know why? Because every player hates Milwaukee. Nobody wants to live in Milwaukee. I’m sorry, Milwaukee, to come down hard on you, but no one in the NBA wants to play in Milwaukee. From him going from New Jersey, actually from New York (because he lives in New York), from New York to Milwaukee is like going … let’s just say it’s not going to sit well with you. That was a funny one when I heard that one. I know Yi is happy though.

Marcus Camby traded to the Clips for the option to SWAP 2nd round draft picks. WTF?

In other news, rumours are that Melo will be traded to the Lakers for Luke Walton, a 2nd round pick and a new iPhone...

Hooray! Free points against the Nuggets for everyone!

disgusting. to save on cap space?! Why the hell would you keep iverson/melo then? They also let go of najera... they couldn't stop anybody WITH camby. Now what the hell's gonna happen?? at this point they need to blow up and start over.

i doesnt matter as long as my lakers are in good shape.. hehe..

is it possible for artest-J hoiward trade? coz mavs fans are not liking it..

Youth Team
further proof they are as retarded as their owner. they are the same age except artest is a better shooter from 2 and 3, stronger, can guard anybody from the 1 to 4 spots, and effectively. artest has also proven his mettle in the playoffs while howard has been ineffective to say the least. coming from a kings fan who watches artest play, if he is happy, he is one of the better players in the NBA. mavs have tried with howard and got nowhere. they should try with artest.

Managing to win a game or two more in the playoffs? Or maybe, maybe, maybe getting out of the first rnd?

this is how I see the EC shaping out with the current rosters if the key players manage to stay healthy...

Boston
Detroit
Philly
Washington
Orlando
Us.....fighting doggedly to fend off the Bulls, Nets and Knicks

the rest don't qualify...fucck 'em.
