Been following the progress every now and again by going to your site... not much progress over the last few months it seems (from the outside anyway). Hopefully this is a boost for you to come to the end of the tunnel.

I'm sure plenty of people are looking forward to trying this out. I know I am.

There really are a lot of things happening, but you're right that it probably doesn't translate that well to the people 'outside' but I'm glad that you're looking forward to it! =)

We're releasing a build this week to a few selected testers and the next big step is adding the AI and rules.. Maybe we'll go under the radar again before we can show new stuff, but as always we're grinding away on it! =)

I signed up as the #7 on Bolton, (ages ago) and I'm really looking forward to the game being completed! Happy to hear that you guys are still at it.

Cheers!

I can relate to the ages ago comment.. We've suffered some setbacks and perhaps overestimated our own (very limited) ressources - but we're as determined as ever.. and positive feedback like this only make us feel even better about it! We hope to deliver on all our promises sooner rather than later! =)

That's our ambition of course! =P

Different strokes for different folks and all that. If people want something as close to realism as you can currently get then FIFA and PES is probably more their cup of tea.. WOF is a game first and foremost but unlike Mario Strikers for example, WOF will play by the real rules etc. Sorry if I'm ranting I just like to talk about the game.. =)

I'm curious about how many of you own a game-pad with analogue sticks - for PC? - or perhaps do like I do; use a USB converter for dualshock (or xbox) controllers.

The game is developed for gamepads first and foremost, also for navigating menus etc., in the hope that we can one day have it ported for consoles also, be it downloadable on XBLA or the SONY or Nintendo equivalent service - or as a full-blooded title even.

It can be played using just two buttons, but to get the most out of it all four face buttons and also two shoulder buttons should be used (there's still no combos though, just different types of kicks mapped to each face button).

Playing with a keyboard is a no-go for me personally, as my fingers cramps up.. and I don't own a joystick.. but we'll still have support for it I guess.

So, if you would like to tell me, do you have a gamepad - or do you prefer playing with a keyboard or joystick?

There's a new movie on our dev diary showing some early AI. A defender and the keeper is defending the goal area preventing the player from scoring..

Thx!

We're grinding away as usual - and you're right, we've come far since the early days although it's taken us some time..

Four years... - in its current incarnation. I've been wanting to do this game since I first played the original KO. The design have changed a bit (mostly moving from 2D to 3D) but the vision have been the same all along..

Here's an old shot of a 2D version (I worked on with another programmer on the Amiga) that never was finished:

- and here's the first steps into a 3D version:

Luckily, Fivemagics is very dedicated and disciplined - as well as amazingly good at what he does, and it seems this time around we'll actually finish the game! =)

Here's a blast from the past. I've assembled a new team and we're hard at work developing WOF from scratch. We're running an actual company now, and got a businessplan and all! We've also put together a developer diary that you can see here:

I haven't lost faith in the project, but I can't blame you if you have.. Still I'd love to hear what you think of it! =)
