I like River Plate and IMO Adidas MUST start getting a bit more creative with those kits...geez...that new one looks exactly like the current one, except it has the new Adidas design...

actually, believe it or not, i heard they're changing their home colours from green to white, and i believe the official away colour will now be red (ye, france and mexico wearing red away jerseys? what's going on, eh?) ... a green kit will be retained for sentimental and historical purposes, but only to be used as their change or third strip ... the purported reasoning behind it has to do with the "fact" that players clad in green are not able to see each other clearly on the background of a green pitch -- and this has apparently contributed to mexico's non-performance over the years ...

i'll post the article when i find it ....
Oh yeah I recall reading an article on Football Shirt Culture about Hugo Sánchez wanted to change the home kit to all white, but nothing more seems to have come from it. On all the sports shops websites I've seen, the green shirt is sold as the home shirt, so I guess his request has fallen on deaf ears. Gotta laugh at the excuse about the green shirt being hard to see on the pitch, reminds me of the excuse Man Yoo had for the grey away kit of 95/96 just because they played crap. Besides, there's a few other national teams who wear green and haven't had problems. I just guess Sánchez wants his team to look like Real Madrid from his time there (H).

I've also found out that Feyenoord's away kit is also based on an away kit they wore in the 1970's, which was also green with white sleeves. I remember they've had a number of green away kits in the past as well.

And yeah I agree about River Plate, Adidas need to be more imaginative!!!!

The red bit of that Revolution shirt reminds me of the adidas shirts from the 99/00 season with the "arc" bit going from the collar to the sleeves on both sides.

disappointed? didn't know you were a Reds fan, Marty ....

i tried to put a different spin on things yesterday, but there's no denying the truth: that really is such a Man Utd-wannabe kit ... the collar style + the back style + the colour scheme ... the only question i have is if this is nike's doing, if the mitsubishi chaps asked for it ....

Didnt the Urawa Red Diamonds start out being like a Japanese branch of Utd, just like how the Colorado Rapids are to Arsenal and LA Galaxy are to Real nowadays? Obviously not translated in success but for example choice of kit colours?
