well cmc211 i see we have different opinions so there is no reason to continue this discussion (discussion in a good way of course..i like to know that there are different opinions in the same subject..world would be boring)

for me as long as my club keep their green and white horizontal stripes, black shorts and green and white socks i would be happy..that kit represent our tradition, our history, our club...not the crap that puma made this year with that green v-neck thing...

anyway the shirts don't win matches...that is the job of the players and their, like we say in portugal, "amor à camisola" (proud in wearing the club shirt)

yea .. discussion is a good way ..but yea i think this should be end ..

and yes puma's v-necks suck!!

Le Coq Sportif are so awesome (Y). man they used to make some kick-ass hoodies but LCS haven't got shops here.

Le Coq Sportif made Sporting's kits in the mid 80's, and what great kits they were, simple, but beautiful and effective. This picture is from 86/87, their last season with us:

You got to understand this from a business point of view. People now demand more from a football shirt or it won't be worth buying as they will think that they may as well just keep last seasons shirt and thus putting the company out of business so they come up with something different but as close to tradition as possible which is why making shirts now is very hit or miss with fans.

That's how a Sporting kit should be (well maybe with a little more long shorts :P)

I understand that, unfortunately Puma's design this season is a miss.

This is the 4th consecutive season we are with them, and only last season's kit was more or less consensual; on the other 3 years (including 09/10) the fans didn't like the kits very much - that should give Puma designers something to think about...
(I'm talking only about the home kits, the away ones have been OK)

i kinda like this thread to become one about "KITS" , past , future and we can now ask why ..
as a 19 boy whose first love was football , i think kits must be special .. cos i used to live with football and when i was a child , footballers were my heroes and i always wanted to become a footballer .. and kits were what these heroes wear that smells like them , smells like the team , the character , the passion , the style ,the history and glories .. orange was holland , whenever i see white kits i used to remember Raul , ajax had abn-amro kits when Litmanen were playing for them , Larsson was wearing that green and white horizontal kit with his rasta hair .. Del Piero in black n white stripes againts Maldini wearing the classic milan kit .. bordeaux with that v-neck , liverpool in all red etc ..

now i look that kits .. well , they're better with clima system maybe and the material they use is better , more cool fonts .. but most of them doesnt have the spirit anymore ..

i just dont want to see the thing what one of puma's designers did on my favourite team's home shirt and sporting and lazio and feyenord and helsinborg in the same time ! ..
