+ Nintendo Wii +

yeah, I thought that also about that Wii sports title. It's hard to take a game seriously when the graphics look like something made for a 6 year old.. You'd think that other companies know this too and I'm sure we'll get a more adult tennis, golf, etc games in the near future.

In Japan only girls and young kids play the Nintendo DS, and I swear to god the same is going to happen of this product to the Wii once all the hub-bub dies down. PS3 is out and has already polarised the market anyway. Aside from the traditional 'puripuri' games, the more seinen orientated stuff has been slated by reviewers. No change there.

Speaking of next gen consoles, the PS3 is running for about 70,000 yen in Japan roughly around £300.

A considerable whack less than the supposed £400-450 mark that retailers in the UK are suggesting.

Also that price will shoot down to 60,000 in a few months. So no doubt it will be even more cheaper than its UK counterpart come March.

Love the enthusiasm. Sounds like the chain and ball on the subject of shopping.

Sony will win this war, again.

Don't be so sure. HDVD outnumbers BluRay movies 11-1. Look around the stores, you'll see I'm not lying. It might very well be the next Betamax(Sony's "answer" to vhs tape). PS3 is very hard for developers to make games for; that's why the launch titles aren't that great. So far I hear the online isn't all that. They've lost alot of exclusives to 360. 360 has more purpose power and memory than PS3 (according to quite afew developers) and has superb development kits available to game makers. Sony will show it's power but probaby in 2 years when developers catch up and truly learn how to program for the new processor. Also the price. My advice: If you truly love SONY and want to have the PS3 and have the money to spare it's a good move but if you buy it because you think it is superior to other game consoles out now and are stretching your budget, don't buy it. You'd be buying it for the wrong reasons. Only time will tell the true success of the PS3. It'll take like 2 more years. And for those SONY fan boys, I consider the PS2 my favorite console (pound for pound) and like Sony. I am just stating my opinions.

This is what happens when you get too carried away playing the Wii, someone launched his controller at the TV and cracked the screen.

As long as Nintendo keeps making Zelda games Sony and MS will never touch Nintendo in my book. I'm 21 hours into Zelda:TP and about to begin the 4th dungeon and all I can say is that Ocarina of Time has a real contender for best game ever :rockman:

Oh and Wii Sports surprised me a lot, I thought it was going the most gay game ever; turns out my roommates and I can't stop playing the game (baseball and boxing are fun as hell). One of my roommates is selling his PS3 (he got it for free from his uncle) and buying a 360 and a Wii just for Zelda and Wii Sports (he used to hate nintendo)

Gamespot is surprisingly so anti-Wii... they gave Wii-sports a really bad review even though many find them very fun (+it's free)

Selling a PS3 that he got for free... wow. I hope he made a really good deal.

Well, personally I don't care about the childish aspect. Most N64 and GameCube games had that "problem" and I found them funnier than any Playstation game.

I'm getting the system as soon as it's launched in Europe (9.12). Too bad a full controller (pad+nunchaku) is so expensive (60€ :S)

I think Xbox360 will be the winner out of 3 choices. Lost Planet and Gears of War look very good.

Gears of War sets the standard for graphics. You have to see it on a HD set to believe your eyes. Best game I've played yet!

so what's going on with that online database of games you could buy/download from Nintendo? Is that up and running yet?

It's been running since day one but so far they only have about 20 games for download for different consoles (snes, nes, genesis, turbografx and n64). They will be adding more games every week from what I know

'The best survival horror game ever made' - IGN

Bruno, it is the best. I was hooked on that game. Another really great one that some people overlook is Condemed: Criminal Origins (360). It's the only game that has ever made the hairs on my arms stand up. Excellent game. Can't wait for Pt. 2

The Wii should come out with an online sword, axe, mace, fighting game. That would be great Can you play online?

btw, can you play the old games online as well (IE: Sonic/Soccer/ any SNES game)

or is that only for the Wii games? (Also can you play the Wii sports vs. other people online?)

Yeah RE4 was great. I can't wait until RE5 is released for the 360. As for the Wii games, none of them are online so far because Nintendo is still tweaking the online services which should be ready for early 2007.

not yet pasion, but I've heard it could be possible (it depends on the developers to enable the online function on the old games <it would be really cool to play Mario Kart for the SNES online>)

lol I know! (that would be worth 90,000X more than a PS3 for me)

But you can play normal Wii games online right? (I heard its not ALL of them, but about 10% of the ones coming out this year)

Really, how many people want to play 1992 games on their Wii?? It's anovelty. It's like people getting a PS3 wanting to play PS2 games! Who cares? Move on with the times. Enjoy next gen games. To each his own I guess.

answer: ALOT

Trust me, for any old school gamer like me (I got my NES when i was 1 in 87), to play your fave games online would be a dream come true. (((Also the new ones like: Smash Bros online would kick ass too)))
