Just had a couple games with the newest beta. There is something wrong with the shooting. Shots are going way wide and usually its to the right side.
Also, free kicks power up extremely fast, sending the ball to mars everytime.
Defense is nice and tight like you said. Had a great game vs. chelsea and lost 4-2 penalties. really nice game. Other than the above mentioned I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary.

check out these results from a 20 minute game on world class, normal speed.
I got my ass kicked! the shooting is much better now. The cpu even scored a scorcher! full on power. I had a few helpess far out shots that went off target. The cpu out-skilled me with accuracy.

first off I must compliment you on reprogramming the electronic mess EA sports calls soccer. without your gameplay patches I would still be using Fifa07 as a frisbee. Truth be told, I only purchased that blasted game cause I knew you would make a patch.
With that being said here are some friendly comments.
while the gameplay is absolutly 1000000 times better It is still easier to beat good teams. I was able to Beat Germany and then lose badly against against a second division hungarian team. (i believe EA reversed player skill/ability)
your patch has significantly improved the balance of the entire game however teams that i should be beating are soo difficult while the great teams are a walk in the park.
again Nick, superb job and i believe EA should be paying you Royalties!

If it gets on goal, its a shot, same registers for the CPU.

Just because you can out shoot someone doesnt mean a thing. Are you out scoring them by the same ratio? Doubt it, anyone can have a shot on goal but that doesnt mean a thing. I can hit a shot from 40 yards out and if it is on target it will register as a shot even if it just rolls to the keeper. The cpu takes its time and doesnt waste its chances, it takes its time which you must not be doing.

I installed your 1.1 beta patch you sent me (thank you) and was having a very enjoyable and rather difficult game. I made a sub and then all of a sudden none of the players could kick the balls more than 2-5 feet in front of them. I also noticed major stuttering in this one. I will restart my computer, play so more, and try to make a sub and see what happens. I think you are very close to making Legendary HARD instead of possibly hard. As I said before, I take a sundry of shots, but I do not take stupid shots. You have to take shots to score goals.

What was real odd was that I closed down Fifa after quiting the game because it was unplayable. Then I restarted and later in the game went to sub out a player and noticed, the sub I made Downing for Gerrard had stayed in there from last game and 2/3 subs were used. Shots were 17-11 with me getting 11 on target and the computer getting 4, but at least they are taking shots.

Once again NK, your gameplay is a masterpiece . IMO, the manager mode is where i get the hardest challenge. Got RMadrid now and my 5 first games were 4 draws and 1 win 
. Every part is well tuned, the only thing that need more fine tuning is, i think, the CPU goalkepper - more aggressiveness and reactiveness.

And walpurgisng, I know you're only trying to help out and I appreciate your honesty, I will send you a new build soon to try out and hopefully that crazy sub-bug won't happen, I honestly don't know where that has come from. It's annoying how you're having these issues because I don't get them over here, maybe it's a compatible conflict going on, I'm afraid I don't know mate. but I will obviously try and sort it out some way or another. Did you have the problem with X-PRO? hmm, I will look into it.
I'm working on getting the gameplay harder and harder to score. Legendary will very much be the tough one to beat (of course!), but I'll work on getting World Class harder uptp legendary standards.

hey nk, i've been playing the new update pretty extensively and I really like it. A couple things I noticed: I'm playing the hard-core striker mod too and I like the difficulty of the shooting from afar but when you get close it seems like the shooting should be a bit more accurate. There's been a number of times when i'm 1 on 1 with the keep and i try to just shoot a low one to the corner but the shot goes awry. it's frustrating to not be able to reliably convert on opportunities like that! also i don't know how the ai works but the cpu sometimes squanders some really good opportunities by either prematurely blowing a shot wide or not running at the defense. anyway, just thought the input might help! great patch overall...has got me playing again.

Yes X-PRO did need tuning. It is the 2nd update out of a possible...hmmm 7?

NK, I wanted to tell you this all day but didnt have the time. Your update is close to difficulty you achieved (or at least I thought) in Fifa World Cup 2006. Also, I dont know if you did this or not, I LOVEEEEEE to see the computer using the right stick cheat to make their strikers move faster. The game was much more like playing someone than playing something. Plus, glad to see the computer shoots, and shoots, and instead of showing me how good they can move the ball, they shoot.
