Just went on a tear winning, 3-0, 5-1, and 7-0! One thing I've noticed- and I'm not sure if this is due pretty much entirely to my playing style or what- but I have scored probably close to half of my goals off of low crosses and just blasting a low shot beneath the keep. Maybe low crossing could be made a bit harder...or maybe I am just that good. :p

These is what I noticed in your release that you emailed me.
What I liked:
Goalie seems better for human goalie, actually made some saves this time.
Defenders for CPU come at you, and attack you with safe tackles instead of fouling you.
Little to no offsides (if you adjusted that).
CPU took shots from everywhere, much like a human player.
What I disliked:
Players felt like when they moved their were being held back by something.
Players moved way too slow (the release you sent to me before this, the ball physics and player movement was perfect).
The ball felt like a bowling ball and not a soccer ball. It moved too slow and felt too heavy.
Passing speed needs to be increased.

MAJOR COMPLAINT FOR ALL RELEASES:
Whenever a player is coming at the net on an angle, CPU or human, and you shoot at the goalie on an angle, instead of punching the ball away, he deflect s it sidewards into the goal. For instance, if the shot was like right angle or the roof of a house, this is what would happen:
Player with ball, is the bottom point.
Goalie is the peak of the angle or house.
and the deflection is the other angle.

Is it possible to make the goalie catch the ball? Or deflect it away from the goalie and not into the goal?

Thanks for the feedback, although ball physics haven't been changed in a while. Not sure where the ball physics have changed for you, but they are exactly the same on my system...haven't touched them.

Players' were slowed down a bit, if you want me to speed them up then fair enough, but don't want it to become easy to move past defenders without having to think.

I will try sort out these issues you are having.

EDIT: The latest CPU has been increased. Semi_pro runs off the same values as Legendary does and the difficulty modes above S-pro have been increased. Much tighter games and difficulty.

Low crosses are harder now, I too also noticed this bug.

Also, just for the testers to know. In the build sent to you and the one I'm buildinf upon now, I have put more 'weight' onto the players'. So turning and running feels more like you're controlling a footballer and not an ice-skater. You have to think about your turns and the moves you make, or the defenders will steal the ball. You might even make too much of a sharp turn when bringing the ball down and stumble and lose control of the ball/give it away.

It's more unpredictable. the sense of 'weight' is greater now.

As long as this provides more balance and applies to both us and the cpu. The ball stealing was pretty common before, so hopefully this just doesnt make it outragous.

Making the players, which I think you attempted to do in the version u sent me, feel like football players greatly alters the feel of Fifa for the worse. I dont want to play with players that feel heavy like football players, im playing soccer, they are light on their feet and quick. You should reconsider this as this ruined my play experience.

Just a quick bit of feedback

I finally got around to trying the latest update after moving apartments and having no net access for a couple of weeks

Overall my early impression is quite good. The midfield play is alot harder to control and the CPU is definately more agressive in both attacking and tackling. The user keeper is unchanged though and I still find the value to not be good enough (but I gather I'm in the minority). I think I've won 2, tied 2 and lost 2 since installing the update which is great, because with Joystick addict I was on a 15+ game winning streak :) In any case, I just finished getting clobbered 5-1 against Norwich (as Cardiff) so I'm quite pleased at this new challenging update you've made, NK.

Its a good update, but the shooting needs sorting IMO.

I just played a game then... Arsenal v Man Utd. I was Arsenal and won 2-0, but missed awful chances.

For example, Henry missed 3 sitters, not even close and the way he missed them was so unrealistic it was unbearable.

Utd couldnt hit a barn door and they themselves missed chances, but also missed stuff even a monkey could score, at least 2 or 3 times.

I aint talking about rare ones either, they happen 90% of the time and no player is that bad.

Before anyone starts saying its realistic, I agree totally, but if you had seen the way players missed (not been saved) OPEN GOALS or 1 on 1 chances it is silly.

Everything else is spot on. Just the shooting should be more player dependant (i.e. Decent players at least get efforts on target).

Due to this im back on EA gameplay, hoping that this will be sorted in the next one! :)

Back to EA gameplay? the shame!!

Shooting is been sorted and tuned. You'll notice a much tighter line of defence from the cpu and better attacking.

I have now made the players' feel more like Footballers, you can't turn at an unrealistic speed, but get the ball to your best skilled players' and you'll see that the skill moves are really effective and you can take on a few defenders.....but it's difficult.

Did you make the AI shooting more accurate ?
i think you should, so you will be punished if you let them through. Im not talking about 100% goal with every shot, but the ai should make my goalkeeper work when they shoot. Cause ive had games where im terribly outshot but still win, like the AI has 17 shots and only 1 hits the target... and i get 4 shots and score from 1 of them
looking forward to the new realistic player movement (y)

After playing the beta 2 the player movement was much better. Players moved fluidly and smoothly, I have no idea what was going on in the other build u gave me. Also, the cpu was taking many shots. However, it appears, as a human player it is impossible to defend against a free kick and a corner kick especially.
