Gustavo Varela of Uruguay and Elkin Soto of Colombia impressed me a lot from the Uruguay/Colombia game.


Can any of you here who get to see them play often give me an indepth analysis of what they're really like?

some reports say that a couple of chilean players were caught DRUNK in one of the trainings sessions (the morning session on sept 2nd) before the game vs Brazil, and one of them had a fight with Marcelo Salas.

that's why we lost 5-0 :fool: and i bet my ass that one of those drunken asses is Pinilla

Ecuador and Paraguay could qualify today for the WC. Ecuador needs 1 point vs Uruguay, and Paraguay needs a win, or a draw + an Ecuador victory over Uruguay.

Congrats to Ecuador and Paraguay. They won key games and are in the WC with one game to play.

Thanks to the draw between Colombia and Chile, we still depend on ourselves to Qualify... :Bow: (That's supposed to be me praying. We should definitely have a praying emoticon, in honor of Uruguay and their perpetual struggle to qualify for anything ).

No, you're not, but there's only one game to play, not two.

Paraguay now has 28pts, followed by Ecuador with 27pts, Uruguay with 22pts and Colombia and Chile with 21pts.

Very happy with the result. Colombia really screwed up.

Also I was shocked at how Ecuador played. They arent as good as I heard they were (from their **** talking coach....it seemed as if they were "Colombia 94"......not even close. )

Now Argentina has to have some pitty for their little brothers (us) and let us win the next game.

so Egypt doesnt usually qualify for the world cup
so at the beginning of every world cup
i pick a team & support it
& when it gets kicked out i pick another 1
i think when ur team is not playing in the tournament u can enjoy every match
u dont get angry when ur team loses..!

Gotta ask for mercy to Riquelme, Messi, Aimar, Tévez, D'Alessandro, Battaglia, Samuel, Crespo, Ayala, Cambiasso, Demichellis, Coloccini, etc, etc.

Anyone knows what will Argentina's formation be tomorrow? I've heard that Aimar and Riquelme were going to play together vs. Peru.

impressive second half by Chile i can't believe how many chances they missed.

now, i'll be half-argentinian this wednesday, i hope they can get a draw at Montevideo . Chile and Uruguay will fight for the 5th spot, Colombia doesn't have too much chances (they need a win @ Asuncion + Chile and Uruguay not winning at home... impossible).

damn Pekerman, i bet he'll play with his B team @ Uruguay

Well Brazil said they wanted to be first in the eliminatories, so i bet Argentina will not want to lose vs. Uruguay and will go for the victory(i hope at least). I hope that if Aimar-Riquelme's duo works vs. Peru they do it again vs. Uruguay also having Messi and Tévez in the bench makes you think something good could happen.

yeah, but between Uruguay, playing at home and needing a victory to qualify, and Argentina, playing with a B team, just for the 'honour' of being first, there's a LOT of motivation.

Chile could had win today 6-7 clear chances in the second half, and with the victory, we would be one point ahead Uruguay, not one behind.

btw, Pinilla is the biggest piece of overrated crap i've ever seen

Recoba said it himself. "We're concious that they are coming to take the victory".

But I do believe that we can win it. Derbies are games apart from regular ones. (Also Ecuador's coach was aparently very pissed at how his team played..........he'll want "maximum concentration" vs. Chile. With Chile even tieing and Colombia simply not winning (assuming we tie atleast.....which is the most likely result <Uru/Arg have tied countless of times in the Centenario>.....we're in.

So we might not have to beat Argentina to qualify.

EDIT- HOWEVER. I think Argentina will not go all out 100% even this time. The players on the field prob wont even. Knowing Uruguay and what they are capable of doing (especially at home and with the WC on the line)......Do you really think that Messi or Tevez will put their legs in the scramble knowing that Paolo or Lugano are just praying they do so to break their legs? (and I have no doubt in my mind that there will be insane fouling at this game)

Argies are qualified and yeah...they wanna show that they'll play well. But hell, its common sense that they wont treat this game as "do or die" as Uruguay will.
