Independiente vs. Godoy Cruz 1-3

jajajaja

Yeah, yeah, laugh while you can let's see when YOU get to play against Godoy Cruz, and also let's see who laughs after you visit your home to play against us.:o :ewan:

About Independiente's match... Truth is we sure had bad luck, i mean if a player trips on the pitch it isn't because he is a bad player and the pitch wasn't in bad conditions, at some point right before Tomba's first goal we ould have scored at least 2, but the usual, we make a lot of chances but don't get to finish'em. Similar the case of Godoy Cruz's in previous matches they made a lot of chances and barely scored some goals, now they made few chances and scored in all them. The positive thing was that Montenegro and Diaz together can do a lot of things, Abraham is doing good on the defense(when he doesn't trip). Now to move on, if Boca keeps falling down we still got chances, or at least to get as more points as possible to qualify to the cups.

Regarding the teams playing Copa Sudamericana.
San Lorenzo, couldn't hold on with Santos FC, they lost 1-0 but the 3-0 they got at home on the first leg made it enough for them to qualify to the next round where they will visit CD Toluca on the first leg.
Gimnasia LP, got a good 2-0 victory against Fluminense in a very crowded stadium, Gimnasia LP will meet the chilean side Colo Colo on the next round.
Lanús on the good track, although they lost 3-0 on the week-end they could get up and in a very entertaining match they won 4-2 over the last champion of Brazil, Corinthians. On the next round they will face Pachuca CF.
River Plate got a 2-2 draw against Atletico Paranaense but it wasn't enough for them to qualify for the next round.
Boca Juniors got a 2-1 victory over Nacional de Montevideo, however they lost 3-1 on the penalties, the keeper of Nacional, was the man of the match.

A littlle view on the 2nd division. Olimpo B.B. confirmed its leadership after a 2-1 victory over Sportivo Ben Hur, now they are 4 points above its closest folllowers Tigre and Chacarita Juniors both drew against San Martín T. and San Martín SJ respectively.
"The balloon", a sinking ship. Huracán can't still find a sollution to their problems the sunday they were winning 2-0 against Villa Mitre but eventually they lost 5-2, which also meant the first victory of Villa Mitre this season, Huracán is 17th on the table and their very expected return to the first division won't get accomplished soon if they don't get up.
Bahia Blanca with 2 different realities, Olimpo B.B. leads the table with 24 teams, but on the other hand Villa Mitre before their victory over Huracán were last on the table, now they just climbed to 18th.
So Olimpo B.B. lead the table with 24 points, Tigre and Chacarita follow with 20, Atlético Rafaela comes behind with 18, then San Martin SJ and Unión Sta. Fe both with 17, the rest comes behind.
On the coming matchday. Chacarita will visit Aldosivi, Olimpo will meet Ferrocarril Oesre(Ferro), in a kind of a classic of the northern of the province of Buenos Aires, Tigre will face Platense. Atlético Rafaela will play against Talleres Cba., San Martín SJ will meet Huracán TA and Unión will face Huracán.

Regarding Independiente's matches, against Nueva Chicago, good start for us as usual, but in the first attack of Nueva Chicago an unfortunate header by Lorgio Alvarez(who i eblieve tried to do a pass) gave the ball to Higuain and so Independiente was down 1-0(there was am off-side by few steps that the lineman didn't detect anyway). Independiente kept attacking on the second half Ismael Sosa came in and scored the 1-1, Independiente wanted to win no matter so after a corner kick in a counter attack of Chicago they get to score their second goal Lorgio Alvarez was left alone with 2 players of Chicago and couldn't do anything to not let them score. Nueva Chicago's supporters were celebrating a victory but on the last minute Ismael Sosa scores another goal, which was the 2-2, and during the injury time after an excellent pass from Carrizo Sosa is one-on-one with the keeper and scores his third goal which was the 3-2 for Independiente and the match finished right away. Good match of Carrizo, Montenegro, Diaz, Marin and of course Sosa. It was kinda a bad match for Lorgio Alvarez.
Against Vélez... somewhat a copy of the match against Chicago, except for the score. The match starts there's a cross for Vélez and boom 1-0 down. a match to forget for Machin and Abraham, Independiente tried to attack but couldn't do too much against Sessa, who was the man of the match. Still good show by Diaz and Montenegro they do a difference when they play together, however Independiente missed Orteman and at some point Lorgio Alvarez. It was a good match of Eluchans too. Anyway Vélez had pretty few occasions and they managed to score a 2nd goal, probably you can blame Matheu who didn't mark right but after all he's a central back not a wing back, i don't know why they had him to replace Lorgio Alvarez. So Independiente was down 2-0 on the half time. Denis entered on the second half and after a pretty good cross by Sosa Denis could score the goal for Independiente after that Independiente had many chances to draw but couldn't clear any of them, still Independiente has that problem. The same way Independiente missed Orteman on this match i hope we don't miss Gioda against River Plate who is the best player of our defense so far. Probably the worst part is that we are still 1 point under Racing, and they have 1 match less.

The match against Nueva Chicago was the 40th match that Independiente plays as home at Racing's stadium, with a record of 30 wins, 5 draws and 5 loses. We are used to win there, even when we aren't the home team.(6) :ewan:

About Independiente's match. Somewhat different from what were the other matches for Independiente, the rival created more chances than Independiente and as it is usual with Independiente they couldn't score. Ironically Matheu and Rodriguez which seem to be the weakest links of Independiente's defense had a good match, either that or River's players had a terrible match, fortunately Gioda wasn't missed. Independiente used 3 defenders only. At the end of the match the keepers of both teams were important to the keep the 0-0. It was a good match of Carrizo and Rodrigo Diaz, a pretty bad match for Montenegro though, i don't get why Burruchaga didn't take him out instead of Diaz. Not much else to say, other than unlike it has been said most of the match Independiente tried to attack, the problem when River remembered they could attack too Independiente was defending and defended well. Basically those from River that claim Independiente played like a "small team", well then what about them? They couldn't do anything about a "small team". But that's just a lame excuse to justify the bad result for them. Now to move on for the next match against a harmed Newell's, with the return of Gioda in place of Matheu.

Krupoviesa could be suspended for 5 matches.

Central strikes hard once again in the classic of Rosario, in top of that both Coudet and Kily scored, so it could have not been worse for Newell's.

Independiente's stadium will be in conditions for the match against Racing, Independiente would play only 2 of the 3 home matches of Independiente, after Racing comes Arsenal where they would make a "good bye party" to the stadium right before the kick-off and for the last match against Gimnasia J. the stadium will be remodeled so they would play at Racing's stadium again.

Vélez replaced their old stadium banned for a new full coloured high definition one, which is said is better than the one at "Monumental", it will be featured in the match tonight against Estudiantes.

Crisntian Villagra(from Central), Cristian Pellerano(from Chicago) and Juan Pablo Caffa(from Arsenal) are being followed closely as possible call ups for argentina's national team.

Regarding Independiente's match. Basically a pretty good match of the whole team, and once again Eluchans was the man of the match. Pretty good match of Rodrigo Diaz again, interesting improvement of Guillermo Rodriguez, the defense was solid. Orteman and Herrón didn't have such an overhelming appearances but they still did good. Independiente tried to attack most of the match Newell's tried but didn't have too many ideas, maybe Independiente would've deserved to score at least 1 more goal but the result was fine and Independiente could bring the 3 points from Rosario, Independiente couldn't win at Newell's' stadium since 2001. Now to get ready for the real deal the classic...

INDEPENDIENTE vs. Blanquiceleste S.A.

*: Racing-San Lorenzo was suspended twice, unknown when it will be played, it's said i will be played in January.

Matchday 18.

Friday 1º/11
Lanús vs. Vélez Sarsfield
Quilmes AC vs. Independiente

Saturday 2/11
Arsenal FC vs. San Lorenzo
Newell's Old Boys vs. Godoy Cruz
Colón Sta. Fe vs. Banfield
Racing Club vs. Gimnasia LP

Sunday 3/11
River Plate vs. Nueva Chicago
Gimnasia J. vs. Rosario Central
Argentinos Juniors vs. Estudiantes LP
Belgrano Cba. vs. Boca Juniors

A victory against Belgrano would give the title to Boca but if they lose or draw Estudiantes must win to have any chance on the last matchday.

In Gimnasia LP the troubles keep increasing. players leaving and the coach will leave if they don't bring new players for the Libertadores.

Patricio Hernandez will be once again the coach of Banfield, when the Apertura finishes. Banfield must get ready because they will be playing the Libertadores too.

Domenech will no longer be the coach of Argentinos Juniors, however he wouldn't leave the club, he would go back to coach some of the youth teams. Rumours say that they would offer the vacant job to Ricardo Carusso Lombardi, actual coach of Tigre.

San Lorenzo, a time bomb. Rumours say that some enterprise would give San Lorenzo the money they need to pay Ruggeri so they can fire him and also lure Ramón Diaz to be the new coach, in exchange San Lorenzo would give them some percentages of the transfer of some players(Lavezzi and Bottinelli bros.?).

Finally today they decided that the 26 minutes left of the match between Independiente and Racing, which was suspended when there was some mess between a very small group of Racing supporters and the police, which means that as usual Independiente won the classic.(6)
Racing got saved by their supporters from a real beating.:ewan:

Still unknown is what will happen with Racing-San Lorenzo, when it will be played and if it will be played with public, only public from San Lorenzo or only public of Racing even, what is more likely confirmed is that it will be played in the stadium Ciudad de La Plata.

It's also the time for definitions in the 2nd division. Olimpo B.B. more of a leader than ever. Tigre lost their chance to get close to the championship after losing 3-1 delivered to them by Olimpo. Chacarita Juniors and Platense also lost the track and have very few chances to reach Olimpo, they both lost 2-0 and 1-0 against Atlético Rafaela and Villa Mitre respectively. Funny thing is Villa Mitre, the all time rival of Olimpo won over Platense who was a rival of Olimpo in their track to the championship, with Gimnasia's incident you would think "oh yeah but they are going to let them win so they won't benefit their rival", guess what, instead they won the match, so evidenttly it isn't like that everywhere. So Olimpo leads the table with 37 points, Platense is second with 32 points, Tigre follows with 31 points then Chacarita with 30 and Atlético Rafaela with 29, these last two teams don't have any more chances no matter what, and the rest comes after those. On the matchday 18 the most important matches will be: Olimpo will meet CAI, a victory for Olimpo would give them the championship. Platense will face Unión Sta. Fe. And Tigre will visit Tiro Federal.

About Independiente's match. Not much to say, the match basically lasted one half, because on the second half players like Sosa were looking to score their goal, can't blame him, he's still a kid. Independiente had a very good match against a very poor team like Quilmes was. Independiente gets ready for the last match in the Libertadores de América until 2008, also trying to win that match to reach 35 points and try to get the qualifying to the cups in the Clausura.

Not everything's said about the championship yet, Estudiantes still has a very slim chance. Since these short tournaments per season started, there's a rule that says if there are 2 teams that draw in points at the end of the tournament they will play a final match in a neutral stadium, until now this has never happened, but this time it's Estudiantes' unique chance to be the champion, to reach this match Boca must lose against Lanús and Estudiantes must win against Arsenal.

On the 2nd division there's also 1 matchday left, but Olimpo is already the champion of the Apertura after winning 2-0 over CAI, now they will have to wait for the Clausura, they are the champions there they will return to the first division or else, they will have to play a match against whoever else is the champion. Also, Chacarita Juniors lost 3-0 with Huracán, who seems will be back for the fight in the Clausura, Tigre won 2-0 over Tiro Federal, Atlético Rafaela lost 1-0 with Aldosivi, Platense won 2-1 over Unión Sta. Fe and San Martín SJ won 1-0 over Instituto Cba.. So Olimpo B.B. is the champion with 40 points, Platense remains second with 35, Tigre follows with 34, San Martín SJ once again rises near the ending with 31 points(Should beware with these guys on the Clausura if they get everything together they are serious candidates to win the Clausura on the last 2 years they always end near the top), Huracán and Chacarita both with 30, and Atlético Rafaela is stuck with 29, the rest comes behind. On the last matchday, Olimpo B.B. visits Atlético Rafaela, Platense visits Talleres Cba., Tigre will meet Instituto Cba., San Martín SJ will have the "saint duel" against San Martín T., Huracán will play against Aldosivi and Chacarita visits Almagro(Chacarita has been playing their home matches at Almagro's while their new stadium is bulit).
