Top Players?? I think you are mistaken my friend, the US is playing with their top players. Just look at their lineup: Iverson, Duncan, Marbury...I would say that these are very good players...there is no excuse, they just didn't play as a team and were beaten by the better side..:)

KG, Shaq, Kobe, Kidd, a shooter, Big Ben, ect...

T Mac and add to that Sam Cassell. He may be old but he can shoot.(H)

I don't want to sound like I am bragging here but my point is that they can have all the players they want, but If the shots don't go in and the team doesn't work collectively, any of the great players they have cannot assure them a win. I know the US probably possesses the best players in the world, but who knows if they would have won even having Kobe and Shaq as well as other superstars in the game...sometimes these players don't work well collectively or might not have the right mentality.....

Please don't try to make this victory less important than is, or at least don't try to downsize its value...

You can assume whatever you want, you can assume that they could have won if they had this player or that player etc., but the fact is that they didn't win...and these suppositions only make it seem like the U.S. might be a bit angry or resentful in that a "lesser-team" beat them...I really don't want to offend anyone or start any wars here, but this is what I feel..

Hip Hop is Dead
You have missed the WHOLE point.

Look at the players that bobby, danny and myself posted. Those are players who are known for shooting. Please notice I said players who can SHOOT. Iverson was the best player the USA had this tournament and he doesn't shoot good every game(watch 76er games).

Players who can shoot = different outcome. and im not taking away anything from Argentina. They played a good tournament.

"I am 95 percent certain that my FIBA career is over," said NBA All-Star center Tim Duncan, who according to Popovich has fouled out only twice in his career with the Spurs, yet was in foul trouble throughout the Olympics. "FIBA sucks."

On the popularity scale, it looks as if the media are in a dead heat with FIBA. The Americans are angry at hearing they were overpaid, overfed, over-hyped and unhappy to be over in Greece.

-------------------------

 so 95% no more duncan in team USA? man, things aren't looking so good for team USA if players reject to join them.

some of the fouls were bad but most of them were right on... I guess nba refs are a little more lenient to big name players....

"The Americans are angry at hearing they were overpaid, overfed, over-hyped and unhappy" but this is true though....

bitch bitch whine whine. **** happens. some calls were bull****, there is no doubt about it, but the international game is so much different then the NBA game that these players have to get used to it. look at the women's basketball team. they played in so many international games and are owning teams. some U.S. players whined so much it was disgusting.

Even if they had teh great shooters that still does not guarantee them a different outcome, we still could have blocked the shots...no excuse..and Emmer Brazil did play with their A-team but I won't get into it again, that is already over...:)

End of Discussion

BTW: Did anyone see that Brazilian guy getting pushed of the racing track, ****in* hilarious...I laughed my ass off...that was class.. :rockman: :crazyboy:
