i was looking at the team profile thread and i was wondering whats the oldest team currently playing? Rangers were founded in 1873 and i havent seen any team that have been founded before them. post any if you know them, they have to be currently playing as well.

Rangers are only the 5th oldest Scottish club.

The first 4 are Queen's Park formed in 1867, Kilmarnock in 1869, Stranraer in 1870 and Dumbarton in 1872.

BTW, Sheffield FC are neither United or Wednesday. Sheffield FC are still playing in non-league football.

Theyr last match was played in FA Cup Preliminary Round against Prudhoe Town , Sheffield won 1-0 infront of a mind blowing crowd (Attendance was 70).They will now play Colne away in the First Round Qualifying on Saturday 18th September :rockman:

I beleive it was like creating a sunday league team. Even though there aren't any other "Real" teams, you just play against other groups of teams
