MARSEILLE 1 - 1 PSG

03/04/05
Stade Vélodrome, Marseille
French Ligue 1 - Week 31
Attendance: 57,000
Referee: M. Poulat

Goals: Batlles (75e) for l'OM ; Nakata (46e, og) for PSG
Yellow Cards: Batlles (30e) to l'OM ; Rothen (12e) to PSG

MARSEILLE: Barthez (cap) - Ferreira, Beye, Meite, K. Nakata - Koke, Pedretti (Sy. Ndiaye 69e), Eduardo Costa, Batlles - Marlet, Luyindula (Nasri 71e)

PSG: Letizi - Pichot, Pierre-Fanfan (cap), Yepes, Armand - Semak (Benachour 85e), Cana, E. Cisse, Rothen (Teixeira 90e) - Ljuboja (Pancrate 79e), Pauleta.

After 8 defeats against PSG, we've get a draw yesterday at home. The 2 teams played well but Paris scored in first by Nakata (og). Then, we resatrted second half with more envy and we logically equalized by Battles who's like a hero for us, his 6th goal in the season, his second versus PSG. The game was correct, I think the draw is deserved. We've lost one place because of the goals between Lille and us, but we're taking more and more points in front of teams like Auxerre or Monaco. I hope we'll keep this third place until the season's end, then maybe the second place...

STRASBOURG 1 - 0 MARSEILLE

09/04/05
Stade de La Meinau, Strasbourg
French Ligue 1 - Week 32
Attendance: 26 559
Referee: M. Duhamel

Goal: Niang (90'+3') pour Strasbourg
Yellow Cards: Abdessadki (70') à Strasbourg ; Pedretti (57'), Ferreira (80'), Barthez (90'+3') à l'OM

STRASBOURG: Cassard - Lacour, Haggui, Devaux, Kante (cap) - Abdessadki, Si. Keita, Johansen - A. Farnerud (Mphela 81') - Pagis (Arrache 72'), Niang

MARSEILLE: Barthez (cap) - Ferreira, Beye, Meite, K. Nakata (Olembe 62') - Koke, Pedretti, Eduardo Costa, Batlles (Nasri 57') - Marlet (Bamogo 84'), Luyindula

Disappointing game... Our defense was extremly solid and Barthez was simply amazing, he stopped 4 or 5 Strasbourg opportunities, his best game of the season with OM - Toulouse IMO... But in all the game, Strasbourg played better than us, we had some opportunities but not really dangerous for the home team.. Luyindula could have obtained a penalty in the last minute and Strasbourg, just after it scored a goal at 93'. Too bad for us, no win since 3 games. We have to finish at 2nd or 3rd place, so now each game will be important for our future.

According to the newspaper "El Periodico de Aragon", Marseille's managers are in Buenos Aires in order to negociate for the transfer of Lissandro Lopez from Racing Avellaneda. The transfer would cost 5M€ for Marseille. Real Zaragoza is interesting in him too.

I don't know much about him, if anyone knows more things please post a reply Thx

L'OM watch 'Robocop'

Marseille are eyeing up a move for Austria Vienna defender Rabiu Afolabi.
The Nigerian stopper has been in great form for his Austrian club side, and his displays have not gone unnoticed in the South of France.
L'OM officials have gathered reports on his displays, and now a summer move to Stade Velodrome could be in the offing.
Nicknamed 'Robocop', Afolabi is a strong central defender and the French side are looking to stiffen their backline.
The former Standard Liege man has represented Nigeria at international level when travelling to the 2002 World Cup.
His chances of playing for the Super Eagles have been limited more recently, but he cold well increase his standing with a big move to Marseille.

Another Nigerian player in Marseille after Taye Taiwo? I know Afolabi because he did great games against Marseille with Austria in CL Preliminaries last season; We were already linked with him last winter.
