But did I say they were great myself? No. I said they have the potential to be great. Konami's do not. And as it stands RIGHT NOW. I can look at a FIFA shot and see people. I look at a PES shot and it looks like origami or not even that 3 demensional.

As for pointing out my discrepencies between "not that good" and "good" It's really the same thing. It's good... but not that good. You dig?

But why are you here? Why are you going through my posts finding the stupidest little details like a pack of lawyers? Are you not confident enough in your game that you have to keep retaliating with someone who... oh let's see... likes FIFA better than PES and thinks it has more of a future? Not even saying FIFA's great. Just that it's good. Hey. I don't want to post anymore repeating myself time and time again. I'm not going into your forum saying PES is ****. I'm speaking out in the FIFA 2003 forum saying "Hey! I like playing this game, and it's probably only going to get better."

If you can honestly show me the screenshots you did, and say they're better.... there's nothing more I can say to you. I'll let your ignorance and your game speak for itself. I've got a weekend to start here. Have fun with your confidence people. Rock on. :rockman:

?? Last time I checked Manchester United didn't play in the orld Cup, maybe you're the football expert though :)

Scholes' upper arm is great, it's Giggs' head and torso that a disfigured, he's not looking at the ball and the other players are playing their own game. How can you convince me that black is white when we're both looking right at it?

Futile effort.

Or maybe you just cant find anything to discuss anymore about PES then you came to Fifa forum to say fifa is ****.
hehehe.... j/k.(I know you must talk a lot about incoming PES2)

In Fifa screenshot posted by the cro, its look like giggs had big head. But in demo i find that player proportion looks alright and the overall graphics is better than in that screenshot. BTW is that true that XBOX version have better graphics than in PC? Which version have the best graphics? PC, PS2 or XBOX??

Well, people, i'm coming in:)
So, u're talking about which game is better: PES or FIFA 2003. I've played PES on PS2 (where else:)) and i could say that that game is... good, nothing special. Graphics is ok, but it can't be compared with this graphics in new FIFA.
Player's movement in PES r not so well designed, and i could say that EA did better job with Motion Capture technology (Konami uses something else).
And, about gameplay, full FIFA version didn't come jet, and we don't know how will it be at the end. Now we can not argue about anything because you're comparing a full and demo version, a demo version with much bugs.
So, if PES is so damn good, why do you compare it with FIFA 2003 DEMO?? Is FIFA 2003 so strong that a DEMO could beat a FULL game?

Cheers

hmm..I take it that your pack of lawyers remark refers to my response to your initial post. I only read the 1 post of yours (which required no sorting through) and simply pointed out the contradictions in it which were pretty black and white:
1.) "PES is NOT a good game"
2.) "PES is not great. It's good"
...do 1. and 2. really have the same meaning to you?
I pointed this stuff out earlier to illustrate the inconsistent nature of your commentry. I like both PES and FIFA2003 ,so I have no axe to grind there. My problem is with your ill-mannered, racist attitude.

Ya.. you're right. I guess the inconsistency stems from the fact that I don't see much good about it at all. I think we're programmed to recognize something in that game that some of you see. I haven't bought a footy game since WC 98. I was excited about PES and WE6. So I got them. Played 'em for a week or so... then didn't again. I played WC 2002 before and hated it. Absolutely hated it. And I can see the strong differences between PES and WC.. but now... I like FIFA better. I recognize some of you love it so I won't say it's bad. But I don't like it at all. But yes, you totally missed the whole consistent feelings in my posts and saw one little miswording and jumped on it. I commend you.

As for being racist, no. But coming from a business background you have to generalize a bit. Each countries' people have different strenghts and weaknesses. The Russians seem to have a knack for electronics, Germans for precision etc. The Japanese for the most part take something and slowly develop it. They have a very unique style, which for the most part I love, but are taught discipline not to deviate from that. Take Japanamation. That stylized look has developed for hundreds even thousands of years. Every once in a while the style will change. But then it stays that way again. This is not at all hatred towards Japanese. Not at all. Just as programmers... they... well... are grossly inefficient. But I hate this you must be racist because you think people are different, crap. People ARE different. Blacks have more explosive muscles than whites, hence their ability to jump and start running faster. Etc. etc. etc. Does that mean I hate Blacks? No. Not at all. They're just different. Which is good. If the world could capitalize on each others differences it would be a much better place IMHO.

o.k, fair enough I take the racism remark back. But in future though It might be wise to pay attention to how you word things as It is easy to misunderstand things when the method of communication is print. I don't agree with you on the Japanese being poor programmers though. Gran turismo, metal gear solid, tekken4, the final fantasy series and PES games are examples of some top class programming. In any genre a large percentage of the top games are made by the Japanese. I know that personally you don't like the game (PES), but the general consensus of reviewers etc. is that it is an outstanding game, so to be so dismissive of the programmers talents is possibly being a little narrow minded. I have played PES and other previous iss games and there has been a massive progression over the years. Obviously the changes this year are not going to be as radical as those of FIFA2003 to EA's previous games, mainly due to the fact that a large majority of the people who bought the previous PES game were very happy with the game engine etc. whereas a large percentage of FIFA fans (and even EA themselves) had come to the conclusion that FIFA 2000, 2001, 2002 were rather poor, shallow games. A major change was needed. As I have stated before I will be buying both games, so I am neither a PES or FIFA 'fan-boy,' but believe that both have strengths and weaknesses. One more thing. I'm not trying to start an arguement here, but it wasn't "one little miswording" but a whole paragraph which then expanded on your 'typing error.' I have admitted that I made a mistake with the racist thing; at least have the good grace to admit when you have F*cked up :mrpimp:

Hey benny,

Seeing as you know so much about the real simulation of football games, how could you possibly think that picture of Giggs is from the World Cup?

I used to be a Fifa fan all the way, until I started playing WE. It changed the way I looked at Fifa. So tell me, did you actually sit down and play PES at all? Or do you like playing pinball style football and having fun scoring 10 goals?

There is no pinball feeling in FIFA 2003 anymore. Last time Fifa had that pinball feeling maybe in 2001. Passing style in 2003 is almost perfect. Some one touch pass like back pass using heel is very good. I like it more than in WE. About scoring 10 goals, you must set difficult level to amateur.

Benny, now I clearly see why you didn't like these Konami-games.
I read a lot of posts on serveral ISS/WE/PES forums about disappointed people who played it, but said exactly the same as you. And what was the problem?
They just played it too few (in your case a week), and because of that, they did not train enough on the training ground.
Because that's what it needs! It is not the kind of game you sit, play and it works for you, like FIFA. It is for the hardcoregamers who are prepared to take much time to train. Just like in real football. So it has a hard learning-curve, but when you are through it (after 3-4 weeks) you feel intense satisfaction if you play like you trained and you win.
So, add some weeks to that single week of playing, spend a lot on the training ground and tell us in about 2-3 weeks what you then think about the game. Those other complaining people I mentioned about at the top of this post came back after that time and all of the sudden they were convinced and enthausiast PES players!

With all due respect I completely disagree with you. When I first bought PES2 I raced home, fired up the PS2 and loved the game within the first thirty seconds. Six months ago I would have been saying the same thing as you though. In fact I did say the same thing. My brother bought a PS2 and being a football fan like myself asked which was the best football game in my opinion. I lent him my copy...he didn't like it. I told him to give it some time, sure that with further experience that he would enjoy it....he still doesn't like it. This has nothing to do with the fact that he needs training, as he can beat me at least half of the time ( I consider myself pretty good ). As far as I can see it's just a personality thing. I like spicy food for example but many people don't. I don't believe that if they eat curry for a week that they will suddenly come to appreciate the flavour. The fact of the matter is that some people relish the long, drawn out midfield battles etc. which are part of the whole PES experience whereas some prefer a 'faster moving' match and are willing to sacrifice a certain amount of realism to this end. Personally I love PES and don't share Benny's views on...well most things. I do however believe that you will either like PES or not from 'the word go' and that no amout of force feeding yourself gametime will change that.

The Kop Kid, you may be right, but I believe that, before rejecting the game, he do better to give it a better chance then only one week. Of course, it is still possible that he still doesn't like it after that and in that case you are right, then he likes the more arcade-like games.

You say that he should give the game a better chance and yet you have already dismissed FIFA 2003 in the PES forum; when someone mentioned that TIF2003 ( I believe ) was in their opinion better than FIFA 2003, you replied with something along the lines of "that's not difficult". You have only played the FIFA demo, which has been out for what, about a week? Look, I'm not trying to be an assh*le here, but if you are going to use the 'give the game a chance' attitude, then you need to adopt the same objectivity yourself, rather than rushing to conclusions. I have found many of your past posts to be reasonably well thought out, intelligent stuff, but you seem to be somewhat wayward in this case. Just my opinion of course and I hope that I have not caused offence as this is certainly not my intention.

No, I don't feel offended :)
First of all I recall I putted a smiley after that remark about "that's not difficult"
Second, I feel PES has so much depht that you need to get the time to practice. That practice mode is there, because PES has such a hard learning curve. That's also the reason you need the time to getting used to things.
FIFA 2003 has improved, I said that numerous times, in fact I was one of the first on this board to say so.
But because FIFA 2003 still hasn't that AI depth you dont need to train that much. It's not for nothing EA left a training mode out.
That's my argument why PES (2) needs more time to judge than FIFA 2003.
