It`s really hard to explain why WE feels playing better than PES does. There is something that just brings up the game I guess. I don`t think it`s the commentary because I don`t understand a word of it.

After playing WE6 and then buying WE7 playing WE7 for a while then I got PES3. I played PES3 and in some moments I thought PES3 was better than WE7 but I was wrong..

They should get Marting Tyler for commentating. I mean he is all calm but does some good commentating in game. It would make sense I think(H)

First thing first I got the PS2 version Of PES4.
Now I got both WE8 and PES4.
Actually, only seasoned players will know the difference between WE series and PES series. Jumbo's right above the slowdowns during corner kicks. I get it too sometimes. But the slowdowns doesn't happen as much as in WE8.
IMO, the difference between the WE and PES series has been toned down as the series progresses.
WE6 was really different to PES2
WE7 was abit different to PES3.
WE8 is slightly different to PES4.
A normal WE/PES player will not notice much difference with WE8 and PES4. But there IS a slight difference. The feeling of PES4 is not the same as in WE8.

The WE/ISS series on the PS1 had no difference except the language. Maybe one or two slight tweaks. But the difference aren't that big.

Well at the end of the day, it's the user's preference on which game is better. So I'd say we stop this WE vs PES war. We should show the FIFA fanboys that we're United!!:crazyboy:

I finally switched back to WE8 till October 28th.

The game is so great :o

Definitly better than PES4, IMO. So others than want to defend PES like if I was blasting it, go to hell. You're not more a WE hardcore player than me, so phuk off.

I`m playin WE8 right now don`t have PES4 but when I get it I`ll test both games and trust me I`m good at testing games.. I proved many people wrong when PES3 vs WE7 era started.

I played WE and they were still taking milk from their mom's boobs.
You say like "I don't like this detail" and you get replies like "AAAAAH PHUK OFF GO PLAY FIFA MAN YO YO"

Anyway, both are Konami games, both are the same damn games. PES vs WE is a gay war. One can prefer a PES version over another WE version, but that's a choice.

i have played the demo, and i sure hope its not the final code cus, the shooting is abysmal and the goalies are a disgrace, everything else makes for a good game, talk more about it later

Going back to the topic starter.

I played PES4 yesterday at the South African gaming fair 'Rage'.

All the 2004-05 promoted teams have been added for basically all the European leagues like Serie-A, including the full 20 teams with the likes of Palermo, Fiorentina and Atalanta.

The rosters are not yet fully updated but include more players with 18 and 19 year old youth team players like Palladino, Chiumento in Juventus. (Whom presently are on loan to other teams.)

The game play is smooth and as real as get it, although I thought of this with PES3, but of course Konami have yet again increased the level of realism. The passing and shooting just feels more accurate and closer to the real thing.
I also incountered no slow downs.

I played a total of 4 games using Juventus against my friend and his Arsenal.

The scores were like this.
3-1 to Juventus.
Henry, long range rocket from way outside the Penulty box.
Trezeguet, header from the penulty spot area.
Camoranesi, long dash and dribble from down the side and tapping it pass between Lehnman's legs.
Del Piero, freekick from the 20 to 22 m spot.

2-0 to Juventus.
Own goal by Cole from corner kick.
Own goal by Lauren from deflected lob of Blasi.

1-2 to Arsenal (golden goal)
Del Piero, penulty.
Henry, dribble from half way line then one-two with Reyes and lob over Buffon.
Lundberg, header in 1st extra half.

2-0 to Juventus.
Nedved, dribble within penulty box and then blasted into top right corner.
Trezeguet, counter attack break away from half way line, passes to Del Piero, passes then to Nedved, and then a gentle low cross which Trezeguet lighty taps pass Lehnman just from over the penulty spot area.

Overall my first impressions were fantastic. I couldn't believe the nail biting games I sweated out with my friend.

Konami thank you very much!

Only problem is that now I can longer touch my PES3 disk and have to wait in misery until I'm able to get my copy of this heaven of all football games!

I have not played any of the WE games, so I cannot judge there. But against Fifa and Tif, PES4 I reckon is at least 5 years ahead of them!

just one small q. Is the game avaliable for PC?


Its coming out for PC in Nov, I hope they release it sooner and the Xbox version is set for a Nov release too!

juz got home from local store.. i tried pes4 n WE8.. JUZ feel both the same... i noticed the slowdown thing is still there... anyway thats juz my opinion.. Enjoy ur Matches.. in WE8 or PES4.. have a good day... Konami still steps ahead...

I still don't understand how people can say the game is crap. I've played both now for a while and the difference isn't that big between WE8 and PES4.
