Well if you're on a 56k this thread ain't much use to you anyway, as you won't stand much chance of participating in the league with that kind of net connection!

I'd like to participate too, with Reggina (Italy)! Since my club and my other second choices are already taken, I'll play with Nakamura's club. ;)

But we'll have to wait for the game to be released and see how the online mode works.

Anyway, great idea Wolf! This can be a really fun thing.

I wouldn't obligate someone to use it, but I think the use of irc is part of the maturization of communities. I remember when I started playing rtcw, only the "top"clan used irc, the people I played with all hated it. A year later noone used msn anymore , because its so annoying to search for pracs, communicate with lots of ppl ...
U see this in every community , all fps & rts communities and also the fifa-comm. .
I think that when time passes by, leagues get bigger and the PES-comm. also begins to organize themself in teams and adopts the FIFAstyle of competitive gaming irc will replace all other means of communication. undoubtedly.

now that ip to ip play is confirmed and seems that the league might not happen what if everyone of you who have a team play at a specific time and report the result to an administrator. This is assuming that like fifa games there is a lobby online to talk to to post results. If anyone is part of a Yahoo games league then you will know how it may work
Then all the results would come in at the same time making it easy to compile the results.
just a suggestion, don't kill me if you don't like it
