PES4 Ridiculously Easy

Why is PES4 so easy? I find that this year 5 stars is easier than 3 stars was last year. I can remember on 5 stars in PES3 I became frustrated a lot and went on long spells without winning. Now in PES4 on 5 stars I win 95% of my games and don't lose. Ok, I'm playing as Arsenal, but I played as them last year and never found it that easy.

I just played a top of the table clash against Man Utd and I thrashed them 3-0 and it could have been more. In the end I had 9 shots on goal and they had only 1 with 58% of possesion. Van Nistelrooy was no where to be seen.

The marking is attrocious, as are goalkeepers. Defenders are stupid as they seem to just chase after the ball rather than marking. And its way to easy to trick defenders if you just change direction. I find that this year there is hardly any pleasure in scoring goals compared to last. Last year scoring a goal was a real great feeling but it's just all too easy this year.

So for a challenge I went to play online. But in my 3 games all I got was huge lag. Response times seem to be about a second, making it near impossible for me to play. Lag also occurs in FIFA 2005 but no way near as much and it remains playable. And when you put together the inaccurate kits/players that you have to use online it makes it not as great as it seemed. I had much more fun playing England International Football online.

Overall I think this is a poor effort by Konami and I'm wondering whether FIFA is the better game. The CPU in PES4 just doesn't challenge me so what fun is it? I'll probably end up going back to FIFA because at least it challenges me a bit even if it is less realistic.

I've got both games. At least I don't win all my games in fifa like I do in pes. Its my honest opinion that because of that fact that pes doesn't challenge me at all that fifa is better. I game that doesn't challenge me is like enabling "god mode" in a first person shooter. Its just not fun at all. Really, I don't know how I can keep playing if I win all my games 2-0 or 3-0. Maybe I have to play as a crap club or should start off with crap players in master league mode but that shouldn't be the case.

I will unlock that. But I heard that its just as easy, if not easier than 5 stars.

Why can't they just make the 5 stars like it was last year? 5 levels of difficulty surely should be enough.

Nope, just played 6 stars and won again. Seems no different to 5 stars. Against Milan at San Siro, you would think it doesn't get any tougher than that. Despite going down one-nil I ended up winning 2-1 with them leaving gaps in their defence all over the place.

I remember in PES3 sometimes I went matches without a goal. Especially playing teams with good defences like Milan I would always stuggle. But I just scored 2 goals rather easily and also missed a penalty. I just don't get it. Unless somehow I've improved dramatically it seems they've made the game way easier. And judging by the standard of opponents online (I've played 3 and lost 3) I would think many other players have the same problem as me... that it's just too easy.

Ok, finally had a challenge. 0-0 away to Chelsea. That was more like the old PES I knew. But still, I feel I should be losing these games. I shouldn't already be winning and drawing on 6 star difficulty. Winning on 5 star mode in PES3 was a rarity for me.

I'm playing the Xbox version and find it easy. I think it just takes some time to get used to the controls.

It's way too easy I beat Man Utd with 6 - 0 on six stars.
Even worse I beat Real Madrid 2- 0 with my reserve team full of untrained kids..

hmmmm.... :kader: :kader: something is very odd going on in this thread.. I`ve been playing PES/WE games for a long time now and yes I can win games but the game is not easy at all.. You really have to work your butt off when playing on star 5. AndrewC I don`t know you bro, but I`ve seen you hanging around FIFA forum and you slightly seem like a fifa-fan.. every thread similar to this one ended as pes/we vs fifa ..

If you are so good then did you play some folks online if you own an x-box or PES4PC.. or even better get in some PES tournamets and stuff..

Not a FIFA fan at all. I bought PES3 last year and not FIFA 2004. And I haven't been in the FIFA forum for ages. Just because I like FIFA 2005 it seems you get classified as being a "fan" of one of the games. I'm a fan of no game and just play them on their merits.

As I said I did play online but lost all 3 games. But because I was the client I had to deal with substancial lag. But even without the lag I thought that the players were pretty good. And obviously if I can win consistently on the hardest level I wonder how challenging the people who beat me online find it?

But I am winning consistently on 5 stars and now on 6 stars. If you don't believe me then that's fine, don't believe me. I can't prove it. But I don't really care if you want to think I'm a "fifa fan". The fact (at least to me) is that I find PES4 way too easy on any level which was far different compared to PES3 where I could barely win on 5 stars.

the game is crap cos most of it turned automated- for some reason if u have ball around area or a bit further up u just have to push through balland someone will autom make a run for you without u even seeing it and without any of the defenders ever picking it up- absolutely ridiculous - works most of the time- just have to watch the offside....

Talk about easy : 7-0 against Real with most of my default ML Team. I have C. Ronaldo on OMF and Cisse on CF spots.

But I also drew 0-0 with Boca, lost 3-2 to Tottenham. Shìts happens too. I find the game easy since WE7 anyway.
My last challenge was WE6FE. What a game it was :)

andrew why cant just u say ur skill got better due to hard work on PES3 ? hahahaha... when u are expert everything is easy... just admit that hehe...but if u think the AI is too easy get some fren to play with you... and that is the real fun and challenge.... i think is bad to whine about PES4 too easy... =) even if u whine PES or konami still the best football simulation game... FIFA or EA just sux bad ... everything is bad if compare..... boycott fifa pls so that they actually start doing some hard coding and release something better than annually hitting their sales target by coming out little improvement over previous title...

I think PES4 with better defensive and goalkeeper AI would have almost perfect gameplay. The gameplay is much more realistic than FIFA. But I just wish the CPU was more challenging and kept things tighter. Thats what I expect on the harder difficulties.

AndrewC, you're probably very good at the game. Not everyone's so excelents. Like me for example.:( For me PES4 is much much harder than PES3 was and I find it quite challanging overall.
