More licences and mostly improved referees. I don't want my player send off everytime he makes a stupid foul. Get a red card when you deserve it. e.g. being the last player...

Agreed. It irritates me when you slide in front of your opponent, contacting the ball, then several months later the opponent runs into your player [still on the deck], and you get a card for it. The ref engine is bad at distinguishing between late challenges, and well-timed challenges where the attacker runs into the tacker after already losing the ball.

And could they please improve the collision detection whilst they're at it. Eg ball disappearing through players limbs or midriff and players limbs passing through each other.

And the change-player algorithm IMO is worse than in previous PES games. Only being able to select between the two nearest players can be frustrating when there is a third player in a better position standing around that you can't control. Eg two players tracking back in a futile chase whilst your centre back stands in a good goal side position, unfortunately standing there is all he does because you can't select him until you either get rid of the others or until it's too late.

More directions of movement. 360* would be nice but even 16 ought to be a massive improvement over the current 8. If they can't do this yet for player movement then could they at least recognise more directions from the left analogue stick for 'X'-passes, it's annoying when the game ignores the player that you actually point to and instead rounds the direction to the nearest 45* and then passes to the nearest player to that octant, who is inevitably marked and the pass gets intercepted.

Less silly AI behaviour. Obviously the AI can never be perfect, but some of the things that your team mates do beyond your control verge from frustrating (but realistic if occasional) to just plain daft. This includes, but is not limited to:
- defenders who automatically boot the ball in their own box when you actually wanted to control it and/or do something sensible with it
- defenders heading the ball back across their own box
regardless of what direction you indicate
- defenders who automatically get drawn wide to an opponent who enters their 'zone' regardless of the fact that you've already got it covered by a player you're controlling manually, leaving you with no defence in the box despite trying various combinations of L1, [], X to try and get one of them to pressure whilst the other gets back in the middle and covers
- panicky goalkeepers who run out and boot the ball when there's no significant danger
- defenders who see a ball on their own goal line and suddenly feel the need to sprint at it from yards away and spoon it into their own net

Phew, all that without even mentioning locked runs.
Nope, sorry, can't resist; is it just me or do people find that sometimes they have to wait for several bounces before regaining control of the player even when using super cancel? I find this often happens when trying to latch onto L1+O passes.

Hmm ok here are my wishes(Just few of them because i don't have much time right now):
(Sorry for my bad english im just 16 :D)

-More teams
-You could turn the Handball off/on or adjust the frequency of handball calls.
-Create your own teams.
-Longer replays.
-More camera modes.
-Goal keepers often overreact.

-League mode( Not ML): Make it more interesting!

-You could chose a random number of teams and there should be at least two divisions.
Because if you play league mode and you go to the next season everything is the same, there is are no new teams, beacuse there is no relegation, promotion etc etc..
Also sometimes i would like to play a league of let's say just 10 teams.
More adjustable parameters for league mode. Some 10 team leagues have quarters, not halfs of the season so they play 4 matches against each other, some leagues even have playoffs...ie after half of the season the league splits in two groups - battle for champions and for relegation.

Adujstable league mode + creation of your own teams would be perfect for creating your own country club league.

Also if you play your custom league and you are very good you could become a national selector, pick up the best players from the league and go to qualifications for lets say world cup/ european cup and so on

Yeh on XBOX it would look amazing. Konami said they are releasing a football game this year on the XBOX machine (excluding ISS),so who knows it might be PES4:)

Give us a non reversing scoreboard, and perhaps the addition of the double scoreboard for 2 legged games.

In the cut and thrust of some matches I have found the ever changing scoreboard a little confusing. In games where you play extra time, by the time you get to the last part you have pretty much forgotten whether you are the home or away team.

Also, allow more than one person to take a team in the leagues and cups, and perhaps make it possible to even choose a match from the fixture list to set to P1 or P2 control whenever you want to control another match, or even watch the game unfold.

In cup comps, where you get dumped in the early rounds, it would be very nice to see who actually won it in the end!

Also, for cups that you have created, just now you can load the data and start again, needs an option to keep the same teams, but just jumbles them up a bit, so you don't keep getting the same fixtures each time.

Deffo needs more licensed teams, or just simply more teams massively increased from 64 to hundreds is the requirement.

And of course the be all and end all, a decent on-line enabled game with a decent gaming server unlike EA's sh*tty peer-to-peer set up.

Please note, like most every other person in this fourm, no gameplay issues, I am more than delighted if that stays the same as it is now and the other improvements are made instead :D

Ye Brainm that all sounds great but...PS2 has limited memory capabilities and other limited specs, usually when a games company put something new and exciting in a game they normally take something out from the last version so it would fit and run. 100+ teams would mean that something from the game would need to be removed (maybe American Cup and Asian Cup) if this was a PC only game all the changes u said could be implemented. Yes the reversal of the scoreboard is the main thing id like changed also the flags that go with it,i don't mind the flags on the team select screen, but the scoreboard display should be more realistic like they show on TV e.g. Chelsea 2-0 Charlton.

Sorry I was thinking more about the PC version actually. I think Konami have probably taken the game as far as they can on the PS2 and that was probably one of the driving forces to bringing this wonderful game to PC.

All the improvements to the environments they wanted to bring to the game are not going to be possible on the PS2 and the PS3 is not due until later in 2005, so for the PS2 they will probably only update small parts of the game due to its limitations in memory, video standard and lack of HDD support.

All of the other things we have discussed in this thread are more than possible to develop for the PC though :)

I heartily agree with yoy too about a proper score board on the screen and it must remain static and show the correct home and away status. Glad we're on the same wavelength on that.

What do you think of the other ideas though, like choosing any game from the list of fixtures as a human player for an instant additon of a friend or family member into an already running competition and who you can later switch back off if they leave or cannot continue and you can simply roll on without them?

Also, do you agree about the cup things? I find it very frustrating not knowing who won the cup I just got dumped out of, I always like to see if the team that did me over, went on to win the thing outright.

PS2 DVD = 4.7GB

I don't think you'd need to remove anything from the game.

Also how about having Training that actually improves gameplay and the stamina of players in ML, so the more you train the more consistent players get and the better they get.

Another thing id like to see is cutscenes added when substitutions are made. Id like to see the Assistant Referee holdong up the board with the player numbers on it and if u sub say Ronaldo and he scored a hatrick the crowd gives a standing ovation and the commentators say something like "what a amazing game he has had, now they are resting him for the next match"

How big is YOUR penis?
Just got some more ideas :
- Fake diving ??? ( many players do that ya know . . . )
- Bonus mini games ( like Futsal modes, Beach mode or free-style chalenge )
- First person view camera ( sounds crazy but why not ??? )
- Jerseys got tucked out during the games due to shirt pullings etc.
- Dirty clothes ( eyecandy feature, but a little eyecandy is okaY )
- Snowy weather, and players wearin` gloves durin` that.
- Give the playmaker some respect, sometimes Zidane made four brilliant assists in a game, but since he was not scoring, in the overall ratings he only got 6.0.
