Ok the major things that need to chance

Graphics
better refs
smater defenders
less header goals, most my goals are from headers
the shooting is kinda werid, they should make it better
THE GOALKEEPERS NEED TO BE BETTER, i hate the freakin keeperes in this game there so frekin stupid

More special movies for superstars
and thats about it

The keepers can be a bit slack. Often they don't seem to stretch for the ball fully or seem to hold back which means giving away really soft goals, but overall the goalies are just fine I think.

But defenitely more player and cut scene animations.

Collision detection and improvement with ball contact would be nice. It's so annoying to see a player 'connect' with a ball when it's a good foot in front of them. Also the way players body parts pass through each other is a pain.

Proper PC port is the most important to take advantage of the PCs better memory and gfx cards.

Very disappointed that my 9700 pro is not being worked hard despite high res and details on.

In addition forcing PC users to use a PS2 pad is criminal, my saitek pad is lacking the L2 and R2 buttons making it much harder to play

The best thing is the patching though by far but PES4 MUST have netplay or else!

PES is designed for a gamepad like the PS2 one. It works best with that configuration. It wouldn't work better any other way, and it's the best possible layout for a football game. It is annoying if you don't have a PS2 pad, but you can buy one with a converter for the same (if not less) that it costs to buy a decent PC gamepad. The PS2 pads are some of the best designed pads ever in my opinion - ergnomically and visually.

If PES did not have the L2 and R2 shoulder buttons, the game would be far worse off!

I agree on the PC port front though. The game deserves better treatment next time round, and it should get it. It's the first serious effort by Konami to port a game to PC, and they did a pretty good job considering. Next time round i'm sure it will be a much slicker job.

Logitech dual action exactly like ps2 but usb so u won't mess with convertors etc.

it may sound stupid but i'd like to have the option to play a match of actual 90 minutes. i like to play long matches when i'm playing with only one friend.
of course konami would have to set the game up according to the lenght of the match. i mean if we play 90 minutes and the game is exactly the same as playing 10 minutes, the match would have scores like 8-2, 10-3, 5-5, 6-8, etc. all the time... and it would suck.

That's probably why they didn't do it. To have a sliding scale where a 90-minute match would have a similarly realistic scoreline to a 5 minute match is VERY difficult, without altering the gameplay completely between the different length games. They have to find a middle ground somewhere, and the only way to do that is by not allowing 90 minute games. I admit it would be nice to see the option, but i can't see many people really using this feature anyway.

yeah... i think maybe 0.1% of the gamers would play 90 minutes.
i used to do that once in a while since fifa int'l soccer (the 1st one, for mega drive).
i also did it playing racing games such as f1 grand prix, formula one, nascar racing, indycar racing, etc... insane.
