On ABC I believe, they mentioned the congress of cardinals (forgot the name) would be held in about 15 days time, and then in 20-25 days time, they would have a ceremonial mass to annoint his successor. It speaks volumes about his influence on the chuch that the machinery now in work to replace him was yet another thing he reformed during his reign. Even if you didnt agree with everything he said or did, and i didnt either, you can still agree that he went through alot, helped change alot, and i admire his devotion and courage in sticking in that post for so long, when he was clearly falling apart.

I'm hoping for a more progressive pope. It's a known fact that John Paul II was a real conservative, he made the Vatican even more conservative than when he took over.
