I don't like Beto at all

At least he picked the 2 best GK's this time, instead of playing games and calling up Bruno Vale. I know he's a promising young keeper, but doesn't belong here yet.

I like Boa Morte and Frechaut as players, but I'm not so sure about their call-ups to the NT at this point in time..

Frechaut I think was a good option, Boa Morte though, I think there were better options. Also, for a second time Ferreira is off the squad, which is totally unacceptable, he's the best right winger in Portugal and one of the best in the world.

When Scolari finally picks Quaresma and Ronaldo to take up on the flanks at midfield, (yeah I know u21 whatever blah blah blah), we'll start scoring more goals against smaller teams in particular, because one of the bad things that went against us against Kazak was that we weren't able to get by their 11 man defence, and that's something they bring to the game which will help.

Obviously not the best squad to pick so my prediction for the friendly will be 1 or 2-0 Spain.

Scolari is getting on my nerves, what he think he's doing? I know that i'm a portista, but i think a lot of people must agree with me, where's Paulo Ferreira(the best RB in portugal for me)? Where's Ricardo Carvalho(one of the best CB in portugal, yesterday he was great again)? Also there are some other players that really don't deserve to be in this squad, for example Meira (no class to play for portugal as a C, Beto (we have better than him), also Quim and Frechaut don't deserve it when we have guys like Paulo Ferreira and Vitor Baia(yes he deserves) not being called.

My faith in our NT is getting lower and lower every game (that game against Kazakhstan was a totally disgrace and a proof that our team is not playing well), i don't have much hope that we can win the Euro2004 with this guy being our coach...

Yeah, I think Pinto still has some good football left in him, but I'm glad he's not on the team because of his poor discipline..

I do miss watching him from his younger days though, what a great player he was before Souness came to Benfica (:/)

Couto improved in that point throughout the time. He's generally well disciplined now.

I agree that Joao Pinto should be called up he's a very useful as a forward playing in the back of the striker when he's in top form and he always seems to score in important matches when the team is out of solutions.

R. Carvalho should be also called up this guy is already the best central defender in Portugal and also the fastest. And hes still young, he is the future of the NT.

But regarding Paulo Ferreira, hes really really out of form right now, i agree Scolari shouldnt call him up until he improves. He also seems to miss heading training, wasnt Sheva's goal yesterday mostly his fault? On the other hand Miguel is short too and you can blame Lazio's goal last wednesday somewhat on him.

Generally I think that although we win attacking depth with the inclusion of Miguel or P. Ferreira in the starting 11, we lose consistence majorly in the air that a player like Abel Xavier that wasnt that flashy attacking had at least when he was in top form.

I dont agree with the inclusion of Simao also, he hasnt made one good game for the NT in what 15 matches or so? And he's out of form also.

And we still need a decent Left defender. Rui Jorge is the weakest link in our NT, but I dont see anyone capable of replacing him.
