That was one of the reasons why the Italian League is so boring people say. All they do is defend. I dont think so, but I think Portugal played better but couldnt score, no actually Portugal played way better. If you watched the game you would know. Hope we do like Brazil did with scolari but for the euro. Because as we know these results are only friendlies.

Did you watch the game? Portugal dominated Italy. Italy got there chances on counter attacks. but anyways congrats to Italy , they scored we didnt. Deco what a bad game same goes to Nuno Gomes and Postiga. Right when Figo and Rui Costa came out is when Italy started to have their share of chances.

Italy scored 2 goals and could have got a couple more.

That IS Italy's gameplan and they made it work !

Italy Dominated Portugal for much of the game. Even when it seemed that Portugal were dominating, it was a case of Italy absorbing the pressure.

Ronaldo had a good game out of the squad until that last cross. Portugal had much more of the ball and most times Italy was all in defense because thats how they play,defensively. It was a nice corner goal though by Miccoli. Did you watch the game though?

Portugal dominated in the first 30 minutes with a great football. Pauleta missed a great chance to score the 2nd and after that Italy grow up in the game, defending better. the 2nd half ws boring with thousands of player changings that always ruin this friendlies. Italy scored the second from a direct corner (incredible at this level) and Nuno Gomes missed in the last minute another chance... another defeat against the italians...

that Ricardo is the only responsible for that 2nd goal, he's the one who has to call a teammate to cover the post, and if necessary scream! he just didn't do it but he also could have done much better than stretch his leg to get to the ball

also i can't believe how Nuno Gomes missed that great chance in the last minute of the game! he just had to shoot on goal, but nooooooo let's drible a little more....

Hey, at least he didn't dive and get sent off for it.

Good first half, probably some of our best moments as a whole team since 2002. Okay, so Italy defended horribly and didn't pressure in the initial 10 minutes (we should be winning by 3 at this point). Truth is that once the italian engine started running we literally stopped playing the simple 'one-touch/1-2 pass' football we love to do.

Italy's goals were unbelievable in this level of competition. Shame on our lack of concentration - there's no excuse - that gave away two goals. I mean, what was everybody thinking in the first goal? Bunch of pussies.
About the second goal, one name:

Anyone disagrees? After 3 or 4 horrible years he came back and I rate him as one of the top gks in the world today. It's stupid to not call this player. Also stupid is leaving one of the best CBs and our league's MVP on the bench for most of the game - Ricardo Carvalho.
Tiago proved he has a place in the starting 11; Miguel proved (again) Paulo Ferreira has a place in the starting 11. The same can be said about Simão; how many more chances will Scolari give him?


In conclusion, a draw would some fairer to me, but that's Italy's game and Scolari's men should know it.

2-1 I want Ricardo Carvalho from the start today Jorge Andrade saved that Ricardo's ass from further humiliation JA was solid.

Luis Figo did good, cant say the same for cross over Ronaldo.

Simão sucked, and Luis BoaMorte did not do better.

Take Rui Costa assist away and you get a crap ass performance from him on the 20th minute up. Just play Deco man he won so many balls like Costinha.
