Im not calling you a gloryhunter. But for example:Real Madrid has a better player in every position than Zaragoca but Zaragoca came out winning the other day because they played as a better team. Boamorte as a left defender? i like him but clearly off position!
Why does he insists on Beto? i dont like him but i could stand him as a CB, but playin miedfielder?! that's only our richest place and he puts Beto?!?
What the f**k were those Italians goals? ok they beat us, but those were comic goals!!!
1st the ref didnt whistle did he? the ball was on movement and off position! the assistant ref was inside the pitch moving towrds the ball! Vieri jumps over Paulo Ferreira! need to say more?
2nd Ricardo... piss of!! BAIA NOW! who runs the defence? no one on 1st post? a direct low corner? never seen that before!!!
And that Turkish ref? no cards? there were a lot of hard fouls and he did nothing! no penalties? one for each side?
BTW i didnt follow many Vieri games lately, but recently i've seen both games agaisnt Benfica and now this.... and i'm very disapointed! What a prima-dona! Constantly complaining, arguying, making fouls, and using his elbows over the opponents!!

.About Italy's first goal, FIFA s yet to decide if those goals should stand or not, but it is a very dodgy call when you got the friggin' linesman in the middle of the pitch giving out orders and suddenly a ball is crossed to the box and Vieri fouls Ferreira and scores.
Anyway, I think the goal was entirely our fault. We just simply should have known better.
Yash: Italy has overall a better squad individually. I'd say 60-40. RC, Figo, Ferreira, Carvalho are better or at least as good as their counterparts. Still, what wins a game - and a tourney especially - is how the team plays as a whole and their overall mentality. Granted, Italy was better yesterday, except for the first 20 minutes. However, there's still a couple months to go and anything can happen. Surprise, surprise.

exactly... like i said, its all about how a team performs on a given day.
One of my best friends (portuguese) is putting his money on Italy to go all the way. I wasn't rulling them out, but was sort of surprised yesterday. They are serious contendors, especially bcs Italy has this sort of trademark game plan that sort of works even when they don't play well. Their defense is always there, and that has to buy you a chance to win every game.

Italy deserved the win, no doubt. Our man-marking was crap and we seemed to give the ball away with ease after about the 30th minute.
On Italy's winner. Class for Italy, but I think if not Boa Morte, then at the very least Ricardo could have gotten to it. It seems to happen so often these days, that Ricardo ****s up on dead-ball situations. Happened in the goal against England(where he could've moved an entire foot instead of watching the ball roll into goal at a pace of .02 MPH), and it happened in both Italy's goals(though I can't blame the first one too much on him, I'm still wondering myself if that should've been counted).
Only beefs I have with Italy were Totti and Vieri's dramatic falling styles. And how the hell did Vieri not get called for punching Couto in the face?
Not that any of the before-mentioned would've made big differences since we deserved to lose, but it still annoys me to a point.

You all seem to forget his performance at the WC, and how a lot of you welcomed the chance of having Ricardo be the goalie. ya, there was NO REASON at all why he couldnt have played in korea. Unfortunately for baggio, his international career will always be somewhat tainted. He played amazing at 94' but was overshadowed by the PK. He was never able to erase that memory. I truly feel that italy can win this euro, and if he could play it would be a stellar way to cap off an amazing career. Just my opinion.
