I really cant understand you guys! If on one hand you consider that Portugal was over-rated, on the other you say that this was an huge victory for USA?!? If we are so over-rated, that makes of us a medium team, so that was a medium victory! isn´t that so?
But do actually think that US dont hasn´t still a lot to prove to gain their place on World Football (Soccer, whatever!)? One good game is enough? I think they palyed well, but NOT THAT WELL!!!

Owned? Yes the USA played well, and we played poorly, but let's not blow this out of proportion.....remember it's only the first game, you're not guarenteed a spot in round 2 yet. It's not inconceivable that the US lose to Korea and Poland....and we're a much better team than we showed today, I assure you of that. If we get it together, we can beat Korea and Poland and get 6 points. If you knew anything about football, you'd know better than to base everything on one game's performance

I really wonder what the reaction would have been if it was a simple 2-0 victory for portugal.
You only get passionate about it when the US wins.
I am not a portugal fan to any extent (though I do like teh team).
On that night they were the worse team so far this world cup (with maybe the exception of S.Arabia). They were the slowest/weakest/shortest (not physically) so far. 2 goals for the US were terrible defensive blunders and the deflection speaks for itself.
Even with Portugal horrendous play they still managed to see most of the ball and created many chances. If Pauleta wasn't a f-ing bum then Portugal would've won probably 5 or 6 3.
I can't handle a country that just throws their money and weight around to pull together a half decent team and then have about 1/1000 of the country knowing anything about the game. Then they go and have an ugly win against a passionate nation such as portugal and really give off the attitude of "Yeah we're the ****".
Don't get me wrong it wasn't a bad performance by the US, but c'mon. How can you guys get behind those american ****s? oh yeah, you are one too
