Greece already have 4 points, the only way goal difference come into place if russia beat greece and spain and portugal drew.
Good win for the hosts... nice to see them back on track.
I feel a bit gutted for the Russian side though, especilally when they went down to 10 men. Shocking decision from the ref, never a touched the ball with his arm it was a perfect tackle. I just hope that he gets his card rescinded and gets to play in the last game. Otherwise that would just be unfair. Having said i'd don't expect much from UEFA.
Anyway, hope Spain and Portugal can advance from this group. We're in for a good finale

the commentators said that in a situation where the teams have equal points, first the match between the teams counts, then goal difference, and if even that is equal, "fairplay" is considered (how many yellows, reds).

That was the russian section too if you noticied how security guards were lined up between the sections the top and bottom was allocated to Russian Federation. 50,000 tickets for Portugal fans and 15,000 for Russian.

Sporttv the portuguese sport pay per view channel, explained the issue concerning some empty seats on the russian side of the stadium. The story is that Uefa and the portuguese FA gave 13,000 tickets to the russian FA. They said that they would sell them all with no problem. It appears that it didn´t happen so the portuguese FA contacted the russian FA, to see if they had any tickets left because they had many requests from portuguese ppl to buy the tickets. The russian still insisted that they could sell them but they didn´t and didn´t give any tickets back. They prefered to have empty seats instead of giving it to portuguese supporters. The Uefa has already warned that the russians have to pay uefa for the tickets never the less.
I said before this game Cristiano should of started, but unfortunately he didnt.

If he doesnt start against Spain then Scolari's being an idiot. He came on against Greece and did very well, unlucky on the penalty IMO and scored a goal.
He came on last night and took on players and crossed for Rui's goal.
What did Simão do? Not much, he was non-existant. Just because I love Cristiano doesnt mean I have anything against players who play in the position he'd take. I have seen Simão play well and know he's a good player.
I just feel Cris should start, he's really up for it as well.

You are not the only one. Anyone who isn´t a fanatic can understand that Ronaldo needs to start instead of Simão. Simão is a great player but Ronaldo is in better form. He was in great form in the last matches of the premiership and Fa Cup final, so it´s just plain logic to use him if he is performing this well.
there's a chance but remote of Portugal and Spain go through together. Portugal winning just for 1 goal and Greece lost against Russia by 2 goals of difference. Spain and Greece will be tied with 4 points but Spain will have a better goal-average. now greece has better (both with +1 but greece with more goals scored).
In my scenario spain would stay with 0 and greece -1, so spain would pass.
about simão/ronaldo issue i think Scolari must put Ronaldo in the starting 11. He deserves, his last performances convinced me.
