What's your point? Russia came close to scoring on Spain, too.

Russia didn't had a decent shot in then entire match and you say that they were closed to tie?... Portugal had the control of the game in the 90 minutes. I know everybody was making the funeral of Portugal in this euro but now you have to live with the fact that we still are in the battle, i know it costs a little bit...

Somehow doesn't surprise me to know the fact you're a Portista...

When you pass you need to be precise, sometimes the only way to be precise is slowing down the game and waiting for a chance to open up. We did that well, if slowing down the game means more possession, then go for it.

Figo wasn't happy? You don't need to be happy during a game, none of our players are ever smiling on the pitch, they're working.

BTW: Apparently by SLOW, you're not including any of the times the midfield get onto quick attacks?

You think you know your football, i´m sure i Know mine. There were my impressions on the actual state of our NT and i step behind them. Don´t try to look clever making the others dumb, when you were on your mothers belly i was allready playing federated football and i played untill i turned 19, so don´t try to give me lessosn about football knowledge because i don´t recognise on you any authoritie to do so.

Our NT plays very slowly, when you have a team that gives to much space like Russia did then you can get away with it, but when a team is agressive and plays good defense (like the greeks did) then there´s very difficult to have scoring chances.

Responding to your brilliant last sentence, to get quick attacks you must have to win the ball and for that you must have not only the midfielders making high pressure but also the forwards and i only saw 3 players making solid pressure. Besides i´m not seing the spanish playing deliberatily on attack next sunday, i expect our NT to play on attack very slowly and then the spanish killing us on those counter attacks.

As to your oppinion on the state of mind of the players, you are dumb if you think that a happy player doesn´t play better than a hungry or sad player. Besides if there´s problems in the NT regarding the Deco´s affair then is 100% sure that we don´t have a solid team on the field but two different set of players.

I hope i´m wrong but i don´t see to much hope in the game against the spanish unless we play much better than we have been playing.

Doesn't matter if you play football, I stand by my opinion, you stand by yours, my opinion is that you're biased towards the Porto players, and just slacking off every member of the team who doesn't play for them, IMO.

PS: To all those who say Russia's GK didn't deserve a red-card... A picture says a million words...

At first look, which is the only look the ref gets, it looked like he touched it. He misses it by a centimeter.

That´s what the forums are for, to debate and to give our opinions, you have yours and i have mine and i´m ok with it, but i don´t like when someone tries to make my opinions look silly making look like i don´t know what i´m talking about. We must defend our opinions respecting others. BTW i´m not biased with Porto players, i do think that Deco, Maniche and Ricardo carvalho are playing very well but i also think that Costinha is not the same Costinha that played this year with Porto and Paulo Ferreira made a bad game against Greece and it´s fair that Scolari put Miguel in it´s place. When it comes to our country i don´t look at wich club the players belong but we must all agree that our NT has some players that currently should be out of the starting eleven (Fernando Couto, Rui Costa, Pauleta and even Simão). The big problem with our NT is that we can´t see a solid and constant style of play, we make a good ofensive play and then we are 10 minutes without knowing what we are doing, we try to play short, then our defenders put silly long balls to our forwards and then we get back to play short balls, to me we are lacking identity in our type of play. Again i do hope that we can win the Spanish but i assure you that we have to play way better that we have been because our current football isn´t a match for an average spain and i don´t want to see what will happen if the spanish turn to have an above average game wich they haven´t so far.

P.S. that photo doesn´t prove that he touched the ball

i think he did see it ... but at an angle where it looks like he touched with his hand...
Its just an Honest Mistake.

it was a bad call, too bad for Ovchinikov, I've always liked him as a player. He played for years in Portugal for Benfica, Alverca, & Porto, for those of you who didn't know..

can't hang the ref though, mistakes will happen. I know Portugal has had plenty of bad calls go against us too in the past couple decades, just like every other team. I'll certainly be cheering for Russia against Greece, it would be nice to see them leave the tournament with a win.

Yes, but the picture shows how little of a margin for the reff to see from 20 yards out, that's what I was trying to say.

Do you think he's out there with a telescope?

And either way, he definitely made it look a lot like he touched it, initially he looked like he was just gonna let a defender come to take it back, but then he forces his hand down and then realizes what he's done, but I also think the fact that he reached for the ball twice reinforces the reff's decision, as well as the fact that his challange on the striker was somewhat sloppy as well.

Either way, there's no use complaining about it, you're out and that's life, and hopefully you'll still learn something from this tournament's experience.

And also the fact the Russia has a nation since it split from the USSR has not won a game in a major tournament, unless they beat Greece Sunday.
