That's shows ur ignorance about Portuguese football! :kader:
IMO this new generation has more upcoming stars than the previous one! So it might even get stronger!! Wait and u'll see!

and I'll say no more because INFESTA and ::shinji:: already said it all!!

I won't knock figo because he's world class. But your gonna say Viana or Rui Costa are by far a superior players compared to Riquelme or D'Alessandro. Do you even know who D'Alessandro is? As for Pablo Aimar, he already ranks on a level with Figo, Zidane, and Beckham. He carries Valencia on his back and he's only 23.

one word: bias :| :( :kader:

Nice to see some intelligent replies for once.

I'm afraid i'm going to stick with the majority of what I said. As for emmer, it is not being biased. The initial question in this post was which 3 man combination I felt was best, and obviously, I have to justify my decision. It's as simple as that, you may not agree(and that's fine) but If I'm to say something I must justify my reasons.

Now as for the "ignorance" comments, I am by no means saying that Portugal has no youth talent coming up the ranks. What should've been said is that I feel they are unlikely to produce the same amount of world class players as their golden generation did. The exact opposite can happen and in 10 years Portugal could win the world cup and I'll eat my words.;) But for the moment, I am not yet convinced of quality. Argentina is currently going through the a difficult situation, our talent pool is drying up and the sub 20 level is no longer what it was 3 years ago. So to a certain extent we are in a similar situation when you look at things long term.;)

As for Pablo Aimar, i'll stand by my statement (as unrealistic as it seems to some of you) he proved himself at the World cup, even with a crap performance from the rest of the team he, in my eyes, established himself at a level with the world's elite.

I respect both shinji's and Infesta's comments, as for K3nzo and emmer, one line replies don't cut it, state your reasoning and your opinion. Maybe then I can look at what you say with a little more respect.

Zambrotta and Doni: two extremely fast wingers
Totti: the name speaks for itself
Gattuso/Tommasi: got to have some defensive balance
They should start Fiore cause he's back to Euro 2000 form and Doni sucks now.

Aimar is world class, period, you can rank him at Rui Costa's level but I agree Portugal midfield is one of the best in the world, Argentina could make 3 impressive combinations of players but not at that level

When i talked about ignorance i wasn't intending to offend u or trying to hurt u somehow!! I was just stating ur lack of knowledge about Portuguese young players! And there's nothing wrong with that since i also recognise that my knowledge about Argentina's young football is very superficial!!

Chill! ;)

you said your opinion, that's right. and i've said mine: i think your opinions are biased and their justification is so obvious i don't need to set it out.

Hugo Viana is growing up. Hes gaining form, when he matures and adapts to English Football, he will be back to the award winning form he had last year. Watch out folks.

At Newcastle hes been playing on the left side when his natural position is in the center. He would much rather play in the center and dictate play rather than have to make wing runs and what not. When he gets his chance to play in the middle and gain his form there again he will be huge.

Cant wait to see him become a world beater.
