and how many did Nuno scored this season?

You Lamps keep dreaming... McCarthy scored 12 goals in 11 games more than Mantorras and Nuno Gomes in a whole season. Btw hope Roger don't stays but DECO it's much better than him. Considering your words i think we can expect a DREAM TEAM v. 3.0 by Benfica like in the last years. :D

I dont know if Deco is better than Roger, but im sure Nuno Gomes is 10 times worse than Benni, u must really be a fanatic to say Gomes is better than McCarthy...:rolleyes:

this statements are so typical amoung benfica fans...they really know about football :evil:

only in the Never land Nuno Gomes can be better than McCarthy, and Roger...it's his life dream to have 1/4 of Deco's quality.

Nuno is an overall better player than McCarthy, I'm not talking just about goals. NG is an awesome team player and sets up lots of goals, Nuno's passing and teamwork is far more superior than McCarthy's. You Portistas are still nagging him on how bad he was through most of the season, but did you guys see him before he was injured? He restored his form and was probably our most valuable player the last part of the season.

Sporting could have a shot if they keep Carlos Martins, Quaresma, Ronaldo and maybe if Niculae could stay healthy (which I doubt). However I don't think Fernando Santos is much of a coach.

hélder postiga linked to spurs, thats not a big deal, b/c everybody under the damn sun has been linked to them. hell, even i might have been linked to them in a previous life. as for y'all saying (benfica/sporting/fcp) will win the title, im gonna stay out of that debate until theres about a week or two to go before the season starts.

I actually believe this one. FCP were listening to offers for Postiga around the E14M. Totenham offered E12M and as far as I know FCP have accepted it.

Tottenham officialy confirmed negotiations with FC Porto over the transfer of Hélder Postiga. The fee is said to be around €12M.

It's said there is a deal in principle.

So, big Benni McCarthy is back at FCP. Great player, in deed.

And don't compare him with Nuno. They are different in many ways.

Postiga will be a great player but now McCarthy it's more efficient, he scored 12 goals in 11 games and Postiga only 13 in the whole Season.

i just hope postiga to get a regular first team place....he will be one of our strikers for the euro2004 an if he will be as a sub for the entire season its very bad

Like i said before Postiga it's a great player, no doubt of that, but he still have to progress in some aspects like the finishing and the heads. McCarthy is a player that have more experience and score much more goals, that's why i say that's better than Postiga, probably in a few years Postiga it's better but in this moment i really prefer McCarthy...;)
