Quite comfortably, thanks for asking.

I find it interesting that there's a push for nationalized healthcare in the US at the same time that many European countries are trying to move away from it. I'm not saying the US healthcare system isn't a mess; it's a historical accident that no sane policymaker could have conjured up. But the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Wisconsin Secessionist Party

I don't really get the feeling that most states are trying to move away from universal health care for their citizens, perhaps trying to reign in costs. Obviously I wouldn't be pushing some sort of all-inclusive universal health care that will cover your Rogaine, or your cosmetic surgery. I'm pretty sure it can be done with a business tax that essentially costs businesses exactly what they pay now for employee health benefits, and a very marginal other tax raise. Doesn't have to be income tax, it could be gas tax, or cigarette tax. Because essentially all you really do is have the same doctors, have the same procedures, but you cut out the profits and the bureaucracy of the health insurance companies.

Almost certainly the Democratic Party, unless something drastically changes in the next decade.

All i gotta say is good luck with that. If you want a good health care program, look no further than Canada.

The government plays NO role in an ideal universal health care system aside from paying. You go to your doctor, he treats you, and he sends the bill to the government. End of story.

I have my new brilliant plan though. A marijuana tax. Legalize weed and tax the hell out of it. Free health care for everyone on the dime of stoners.

She is seriously the stupidest political figure in modern world history. If I was an evangelical with an IQ over 90 I would be embarrassed as hell that Sarah Palin is representing me to the rest of the country.

Especially now that it's come out that she was hand picked by Fred Barnes and Bill Kristol because she was an empty vessel they could fill and control.

Gonna vote Obama too. Aside from some miracle or scheme (see: Bush), Obama should win it.

Nope. Elections have been Tuesday since at least 1789.

Really? Well you really do learn something new everyday. :) BTW, does the choice of year 1789 have anything to do with the French Revolution?

@ OrgulloVikingo: How the hell is mass fraud meant to be a miracle? Isn't that something to be completely avid and repulsed by?

PS: Linking to that and again from Sicko, there was a comment from American ex-pats living in France which Moore interviewed that I found interesting. Apparently it went along the lines of "In Europe, the governments are afraid of the people, whereas in America, the people are afraid of the government." Is this true to any/some extent?
