hi, actually you can download rosters, kits and names for ps2.

for winning eleven: Download full patches and patch if over the CD image.

for PES2 or 3 (DVD): Download option files that others has edited, (yes you can edit flags, kits, faces, names..etc in the game.) then copy it over using a USB to USB device to connect your ps2 and pc, called the XPORT.

Troublesome but that's ps2. PES 3 is coming out on pc. :)

You guys who complain about real names and real team names and are fifa fans are just into graphics and childish thing. I mean it wouldnt hurt but no need to complain over it when you can solve it with patches that are available. Another thing this guy said he got bored after playing 9 games and tied 0 to 0 lol yea i bet its boring to you cuz in fifa you will games 10 to 0 right? yes exactly then how can you say winning eleven's gameplay suck you retard. Anyways you sound like a little childish kid you probably are american too and dont know what real football is about:kader:

The thing is that PES3 as well as WE6/7 are harder to learn, which is good in the long run. Who wants to play a new game and immediately win all games (and some even big wins) ?

I can only laugh at the comments being made about ppl giving up after 5-10 games just cause they cant win 5-0 straight away. I agree that the refs can be a bit strict but really...if you slidetackle an opponent and doesnt hit the ball but the man...surely that would result in a card in real life as well. Especially if its from the back.

You'll soon learn how to do real sliding tackles without making a freekick - its all got to do with timing, which is something that can take some time learning (which still is good).

But again, ppl giving up on PES this fast...must be true arcade gamers so maybe they should just go back to Fifa and score 10 goals in their matches. ;)

PES3 is a good game, but it is not AMAZING, and is certainly not as far ahead of FIFA as everyone sed, not on gameplay, not on anything. As a package, as an enjoyable experience, FIFA 2004 is the game to go for.

PES3 overall is good...but the thru passes are a real crap....and there is no secret about it,.ç

even the thru passes in fifa crap 2003 were much better (when mastered of course)

Sorry i missed your post earlier on. In real life, you don't really do slide tackles all the time. It also takes time to learn how to do proper sliding tackles in WE/PES. I had your problem, and know how it feels. It really takes time :)

If you have trouble defending, you can press Square to ask a nearby CPU team mate to close up on him. Triangles calls the GK out.

As for shooting, its different from Fifa of course. In PES, when u tab the shoot button, he will slot the ball under the GK. a little more will result in a low hard shot, and even harder will result in higher hard shots. If you need to lob the keeper, u can use L1+ shoot. Shooting sometimes aren't strong or totally wide could be because the player is not balancing well (pushed by defenders), or he is facing the wrong direction, making him use his wrong foot.

The hardness of shooting also depends on different players. The same amount of power can result in Roy Keane blasting at the keeper, Beckham "passing" to the keeper, or Gary Neville sending the ball wide. If you want to make long shots, make sure you use the right player to do it.

These take me some time to know. There are a lot more things to find out.. like freekicks, Curl in or Blast...etc

.. this is the beauty of WE and PES. :)

PES3 Owns You!

For starters lets get a few things straight, the control system in pes3 is the most fluid and accurate interpretation of football on any platform EVER! How you can say FIFA is a better package or whatever i cant understand, in my opinion FIFA can be mastered in a matter of hours to the point where id prefer continually beating my head off a wall. I mean how many times can u score the exact same goal.

Another thing, in pes u get the feeling that your actually in control of a team of individual players (sad but u actually build a relationship with your star striker or whatever) for example trying a long range drive with gary neville aint gonna burst the back of the net unless you have space, time, control, body position etc. FIFA on the other hand is a joke. I mean run, pass, shoot button, score, kickoff, run, pass, shoot score.............. etc. Theres just no feeling of variation in the gameplay in fifa yet ever single goal, midfield battle, 30 yard drive off the bar etc in pes feels like a new experience.

And i also must add that the graphics engine in pes3 is even more realistic b4 and in my opinion the developers at FIFA should hang thier head in shame as theve continued to bring out the same tired old game with updated teams and rosters etc. Well whoop de ****ing doo.

Sensible Soccer had all the real names and if your looking for a game that has all your little players with the real names i suggest sensible as even a tired old game like that still beats FIFA's ass when it comes to the fun factor!

By all means play it but i fear for your frame of mind as fifa is one piece of ****.

There im finished!

yeh i like the finishing on PES3 and the way the players shoot badly when pressurised, its realistic, just didnt enjoy long range shooting. i found the game a bit limited and a bit boring. a season just doesnt hold the same excitment of fifa. both games are good, but id go for fifa cos it offers more

have any of you noticed that people that like PES or WE get mad when someone just says they like FIFA better... that kind of reaction right there should answer the question of which games better. FIFA soccer the #1 soccer franchise in the world.

People don't get both, because it would cost a lot of money.
Personally I like FIFA better, 2004 looks awesome and very well done.

If your asking about the best GAME then PES3 is clearly better gameplay. However if what your looking for is nice little pictures with all the right names id have to agree that fifa would satisfy your needs. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and so i dont wanna get into arguments over it. FIFA just doesnt have the gameplay appeal for me.

Actually, I think the through passes are perfect. They take skill to implement effectively. You can't just hit triangle and expect a perfect pass. Your player has to be in the right position (I usually angle him diagonally before hitting the pass), has to have good passing ability, and has to have a decent link up with the player you are passing to (teamwork attribute). You also can simply pass the ball manually into space if you want, which takes even more skill to master (I still suck at manual lob passes!).

I don't think we get mad, it's just that any rational person who truly loves football can't understand why anyone would want to play FIFA when PES/WE is an option. The game is simply the best recreation of a sport out there. No other sport has been implemented with the level of realism in a videogame like PES/WE has. Unlike most games, it actually takes a lot of skill to master. I've been playing WE6:I for months now, and I still haven't started a Master League on 5 star yet. And if having real licenses is the only advantage (don't give me career mode; Master League is the best dynasty mode I've played outside of Madden), that's no excuse, as has been brought up before, you can simply download option files to correct the kits, flags, and **FEW*** player names that are still incorrect.

And by the way, it does make us a tad bit irritated when someone says PES is crap because it's too difficult. Don't you want a challenge??? Oh well... Actually, I take that back. I don't get irritated, I just laugh...

I guess your right but I will soon FIFA and I dont have much time to play so I really dont have time to play enough to master plus its hard to find PES anyways so I just go with FIFA and its hard enough for my liking...

I have downloaded both demos of FIFA 2004 and PES 3. And can't stop playing them since then. Honestly, I think both are very good games, and it is a good news for consumers like us. Here is my opinion about 2 games(based on the demos):

Gameplay wise, PES series used to beat fifa series comfortably. But it isn't the case this time. In my opinion, PES overall is still slightly better thanks to the fluent and responsive control. I love the header and shooting system PES more than FIFA's one. The ball physics of shooting in PES is more real than fifa one (just look at the goals!). But does it mean PES gameplay beat FIFA's by every means? Certainly not for me, FIFA 2004 does have some innovative controls which PES is lacking. Being able to control the power and direction of through pass is one of those, being able to call player to run is another one which I think PES should have(or may be just because I don't find how to do it in PES, if so please tell me), for so many times in PES, i am so annoyed that my teammates controlled by computer just standing and doesn't run in free space (and this is one of the reason y i like cooperating with friends on PES more than playing on my own because they know how to run!). The free kick is also better in FIFA 2004 which allow u to control the curve and target. For corner kick, both FIFA and PES got their own advantage, i like FIFA one that player can push around when trying to get the ball which just look like the real thing we see on TV. But as I said, PES got better header system which is very important in attacking and defending corners, and PES also got more players in the box while FIFA just got 2 or 3 for each teams and in this case, PES is more real. Actually I somewhat prefer FIFA control ability to PES one, but FIFA control is not as responsive as PES, that's why I give PES a win this time. But EA is catching up quickly, FIFA 2004 control is already much more respontive than 2003 and earlier fifa series. So if EA finally gets a control which is as responsive as PES in FIFA 2005, PES will not be the king anymore!

SO how about difficulties? I have heard so many people saying FIFA is too easy and PES is much more challenging. But I am sad to tell PES fans that FIFA 2004 actually is more difficult to beat than PES. I play the demo of FIFA 2004 for around 10 hours now, and I still got beaten up 4-1 and 5-1 quite often and just managed to win the game once(for world class difficult of course). And I can tell computing doesn't cheat as much to make the game more difficult to play, it is simply due to AI! At higher difficulty, computer defends better because it manage to intercept my passes more often while computer attacks better by having very good vision at passing to player at good position. For PES3, I have played it on PS2 several times at my friend's place before I got the demo. And once I got the demo, I play 5 stars difficult right away and just lost 1 or 2 games so far, though most of the time, I got drew because I am crap at scoring, still need to practice on this! So far, I feel FIFA is more difficult to play, but not sure in the future, i may be able to find a scoring formula just like earlier fifa series, but anyway, in earlier fifa series, I always win after playing for few hours, so FIFA 2004 already improves a lot! Actually, I found that FIFA 2004 requires more techique in defending thanks to the crap defensive AI for my teammate (but the opponent defence AI is very good though), the reason is I found that computer controlled teammates have the tendency to leave the player they are marking and go to the player who is having the ball. And remember that because opponent passing is just so great that they will immediately pass to that unmarked player and thus create a one on one situation to the keeper. It makes me need to switch my players often in order to make sure they all marked the right people.

How about graphics and sound? For graphics, it depends on ur taste, FIFA may have more details faces, but the ligthing effects make those faces look like plastic  ! So I will give a draw in graphics. For musics and sound effects, FIFA is better.

So which is better package to buy? It is a tough choice. I will buy both. They are both very good games and I am sure I will enjoy both games for a long time. But if I can only buy one. I probably will go for FIFA 2004 PC version because of its PC fusion feature with TCM2004.

I dont know if the FIFA 2004 PC version differs a lot from the PS2 version, but after having tried the demo of Fifa 2004, i definately am not gonna buy it. Yes, they've improved a lot but most of the time I cant help but noticing how they've tried to copy from PES/WE series - and did a poorer job on it too, in my opinion. And for that reason alone I wont buy it.

Even if they've made Fifa 2004 more difficult to beat in worldclass mode, doesnt mean that this makes it better than PES3. Admittedly I wont judge Fifa 2004 yet as i havent played the final version - but i doubt that the final version will be significantly different than the demo version.

Somehow I got this feeling still - that even tho Fifa2004 is harder, it would only take a short time until you figure out a way to score (and now the worse part) and then you can repeatedly and at any time score in that way. I hope Im wrong.

But judging from the 2 PC demos - i think theres no doubt that PES3 is the better one, in my opinion.

PES plays far better.

People who have to have all real names, and fast high scoring games where after 10 minutes the score is 3-2 will prefer FIFA..

One is a more arcade style football game, the other is a more hardcore sim. having real faces doesn't make the game actually play better, and its not as if you don't know who they all are anyway.

It's always the same flawed, childish and shallow reasons given for not liking Pro Evo

"It's too difficult, no immediate gratification" "Not enough real player names and clubs" etc.

This is so shallow. Precisely the reason the thrills offered by Pro Evo are so immense is that the gratification is not immediate - you work for your goals and feel simply elated when you score (oh, just like REAL football).

As I've heard someone put it, PES games are for those who don't just love a club and the celebrity that goes with it, but actually love the game of football itself. These people understand the mechanics of the game better, and for them all the player names correct is a very good bonus, but far less important than the game actually doing what it says on the tin - playing football
