Problem with the 'Controller Setup'

I think I installed the patch properly, however, the controller setup doesn't work well! When I choose a operation and try to choose a key, there's no response at all, no matter what I press.
How this could happen!

This is first time ever since I buying and playing FIFA (1996) that I haven't played it yet. EA Sports want to make as to buy new gamepad (they suggesting Logitech or Gravis). Conspiracy Theory. Think About this.
They were making big mistakes while they making a game. They put Mexican and Polish teme (a don't have anything against Pols and Mexicans) and they didn't put Partizan Belgrade.
Anybody watch game on Tuesday in Belgrade against Real Madrid. Tell me, is Partizan deserve it to be part of Fifa 2004.

HOW CAN I SET UP CONTROLLER BUTTONS??? I DOESN'T WORK HOWEVER I HAVE INSTALLED THE PATCH!!! THE ONLY OPTION IS FOR THE KEYBOARD!!!:f***:

Same here, but I, as a consumer of a EA product is expecting a patch... that works. (You have to tell them to release a patch that works, otherwise they forget that part and do like they did in the 1.1 patch.)

i cant even FIND the controller set up :(


i have installed the patch (i think - it was very very quick)

because i now have an option to set the detail level, but cant see controller setup anywhere??????

I just reloaded the game, and now there is a controller setup option,

But when i click it, I can't do anything in there??

What is going on?

Keyboard setup works fine, but I'd like to setup my Thrustmaster.... I hope EA will create a new patch. I've read a lot of forums on this subject and as far as I know no-one is able to configure his gamepad. Is that correct or do you have to install the patch several times or something?

same problem here i want to setup the buttons on my thrustmaster because at the moment its unplayable the way the buttons are arranged, any ideas?
ive installed the patch twice and still nothing!

PES3 here i come!!

LOL I give up I'm picking up a Logitech Dual Action tomorrow. Anyone else thinks its the best for this game? I can't stand the damn keyboard after using a PS-clone gamepad, and it broke down after extensive use with 2003. :(

Why they bother to change the whole Controller Setup, Fifa 2003 Controller Setup was ok to me. Now I guess I will have to stick with default value since I too can't change the setting for my gamepad.
