The Gers boss is desperate to sign a striker who can turn around the fortunes of the club after failing to clinch any silverware this season.

Prso was part of the Monaco side that booked their place in the Champions League final after dumping Chelsea out of the competition.

McLeish has spent the last few weeks scouring Europe for potential new signings and promised Rangers fans they would not be disappointed by his summer captures.

Croatian hitman Prso now appears to top the list after enjoying a sensational season with Monaco, who are on course for the French league title as well as the European Cup.

The news is a timely lift for the Ibrox side ahead of the final Old Firm game of the season and McLeish is hopeful a deal can be completed.

He told the club's official website: "He is coming to talk to us and it is not a done deal, but we hope to conclude business with him as he is a player we admire.

"He has had a fantastic season and in just a few weeks he will play in the Champions League final. He has scored a lot of goals and he has performed really well.

"We have watched him on a number of occasions and it would be great to do a deal."

But even if it did happen(which it won't), Prso would be out in well under 6 months of arrival.

Psro has been screwed by his agent. His agent will only get him a club which are offering big money. We all know that Rangers players aren't exactly there for the love of the club, so it wouldnt suprise me if he did go.

But Leeds have good players. Alan Smith, Paul Robinson players other teams want. Rangers might as well be the Arizona Cardinals of soccer.
