Punk lost its edge since the 70's, I reckon. Now its all about the money. Greedy lil' blighters.

On an incredibly unrelated matter, British Sea Power have done a couple of post-punk sounding songs.......

Apologies to Insect Life and Favours in the Beetroot Fields. The band's not specifically punk and doesn't intend to be. BSP are marvellous, mind.

My favorite punx these days:

Dropkick Murphys
Ducky Boys, Dirty Water, Sinners & Saints (basically the same singer/bassist with his different projects)
Rancid
Guttermouth
MM Bosstones (more ska than punk)
Ramones
Sex Pistols
Buzzcocks
Swinging Utters
Darkbuster
Pennywise
Humble Gods
NOFX
Dead Kennedys
4-Skins
Roger Miret & The Destroyers

The Offspring, Green Day, Good Charlotte, Blink 182, etc. suck!!! They are merely pop bands dressed as punkers! The real punk from the 70's will never be replicated!!! Only some of the newer bands even come half as close.

Anti-flag are playing this Saturday in my town. Only 10 bucks and you get their new cd free, too! Unfortunately, the show sold out so I won't be there. Peace.

.

What your mouth there kiddo,i don't care what you say about Blink and GCH but give respect to the Offspring and Green Day.

It is very clear that you never listened stuff from Ignition or Ixnay on the Hombre (offspring albums) i'm sure you only listened to the most ****ty stuff like Pretty Fly that i admit are bad but overall the Offspring kicks ass.

And like them or not, you gotta have respect to Green day, they gave life to punk in the 90s and have one of the best albums of all time: dookie

Thats a great selection. 'I've got an ape drape' is one of the funniest songs from the Vandals. I've heard 'Lipstick' aswell and I don't mind Lagwagon because 2 of their members are part of the Gimme Gimmes. (H)

Also have you been to Missing Link in the city? I went there today and I'm going to go back next time and get the Gimme Gimmes record 'Blow in the wind'. (H)

They are not punk. They never have been, and never will. I just think the whole American punk scene's a bit lame. I prefer The Clash, Sex Pistols and Dead Kennedy's. The satirical stuff that made a point. Now punk's just repetetive and a bit un-inspiring.

Whatever rocks yer casbah, I suppose. Different strokes for different folks.
