QotW: What Do You Think About RB Leipzig?

There is a lot of controversy around the Red Bull football system and of all their teams RB Leipzig are most likely going to be ones who have the most success / largest impact.

As expected RB Leipzig are being criticized for being more or less a Red Bull ad disguised as a football team, even though similar relationships (Phillips with PSV and Bayer with Bayer 04 Leverkusen) have existed and continue to do so throughout Europe. Some argue that such teams have stronger local and traditional ties to the areas but Red Bull has invested significantly in youth football in Leipzig.

In short what do you think (if anything) about RB Leipzig?

The only thing I remember is that they won the last Fifa draft challenge cup (or were runners up) with ShiftyPowers.

The Bayer comparison is not fair though, Bayer has been named that for decades and was a socialist/union team started by the factory workers themselves and named that way, not by Bayer.

Champions League football, young squad with genuine stars (they have the money to keep them, right?), and a solid backroom staff.

"You ain't got no history"? It's clearly just a matter of time for them.

I saw them play live in schalke a month or so ago and they really did not look that spectatular. Sure, it may have been an off night, but I didn't really feel a massive 'presence' exerted by any of their stars. I've heard 50m valuations slapped on premier league targets Keita and Werner, and honestly I cant say I saw anything to justify it. let's see what they do next year.

I actually like them a lot because they are basically what I do in FM. Spend a lot of money on a lot of promising youngsters, make them all earn their playing time, and see who emerges. The Swedish winger is really good, and I like Keita a lot too. Werner is okay, but not as good as those two IMO.

I just think they're a good, buzzing, energetic and different young unit that know how to win games but if you plucked one out and put him elsewhere I am not convinced he would do much.
