I pretty much like all of his stuff, and I don't think 99% of rappers could top Train of Thought. Just because he hasn't topped it doesn't mean much, it just shows how great that album is. Look at Nas and Illmatic.

Don't get me wrong Shifty, Thats sort of along the lines of what I'm trying to say. Kweli is one of maybe five rappers with which I buy their new CD the week its out, most probably the day its out. Train of Thought is one of my favorite albums ever.

Does anyone know if there's an "original" to Kanye West's "Never Let Me Down". Or to make the question simpler: what song is the background sample where the lady sings ("when it comes to being true, at least true to me... ") taken from?

the background vocals are done by tracy spencer, and contains a sample from "maybe its the power of love" by m bolton

Hey, so I've been listening a to Chamillionaire aka King Koopa a little bit recently and basically if you're going to rap about stupid **** like Paul Wall, this is how you do it. He's probably the best rapper that primarily talks about his cars and money.

Can't stop the rush...

Hip Hop is Dead
I agree with you Shifty.

I bought the album because I had some extra cash and you know what, it isn't half bad(I went into it not expecting much).

If you gonna go with any artist from the south, go with Chamillionaire.

no offense, but the game isnt so good. i dont really think his album would be half as good if it wasnt for dr.dre's beats.

I like The Documentary, but I'll admit it's probably because of Dre and Just Blaze.

Have you guys seen the old clips of the rap awards (can't remember the name of them, it's the really famous one(EDIT: Source Awards)) where Outkast won the best new artist award except it was the year where Snoop and the whole Death Row crew started the feud, so since Outkast wasn't from the East coast they got booed? Oh man, that is so crazy.

You know you like an artist when you hear their song on KISS FM and you like it (Chamillionaire's "Turn it Up ft. Lil Flip), man that's a weird feeling. Ususally I just put it on for catchy songs that I like, but it takes no skill to create like "My Humps".

Luda's awesome, but the Cham album I was mostly refering to wasn't "Sound of Revenge", but his "Get ya Mind Correct" album with the beats by Paul Wall. It's pretty good, but once again, it's all about money and candy paint.

ANOTHER EDIT: Yeah, T.I.'s really holding it down for the south right now. He's probably the King of the South right now. I'm a fan of him too, but he's not talking about candy paint, he's talking about selling coke.

i dont understand why people dont like the game, yes he may not be as deep as pac, or as lyrically gifted as tech but his album was one of the best of the year, he is a better RAPPER than kanye west
