I think the problem is that the real game is quite a bit slower in the buildup and in possession than in FIFA. Obviously, FIFA can't target gamers who want to play actual 45 minute halves, so they create a game every year modeled around the majority of players who want to play 5 minute halves.

Would it be nice to have a realistic gameplay? Slower buildup and measured pace? Realistic decision making and tactics? Realistic formations that work the ball around the pitch with a variety of passes? Passing backwards and to GK? Realistic defending and fouls?

Of course it would be nice to have all of that, but the truth is, there may not be enough people to warrant a game being tailored specifically for that group. Until football games are able to be modded like Skyrim or something, I doubt it's possible to create an actual simulator. And yet, there are guys who spend hours and hours every single year trying to make FIFA as close to realistic as possible, and they do it for free. Perhaps just say "thank you", maybe even offer a constructive suggestion or question, but other than that, people really shouldn't criticize. After all, if you can do better, why don't you do it yourself?

They should make the game a bit more open so that modders have more control over a lot of things. I mean, why not? Wait, then there won't be any difference between FIFA 16 Modded and Fifa 17.

Whole heartedly agree with you.

Its funny I built a version of my mod where the game was slow and realistic and I found it incredibly boring. I only play 7 min half games as that's all the time I got here and there. I thought to myself 'does anybody really want to play 0-0 all the time?' The answer is no.

'modding' fifa is painful. Your basically messing some config ini settings. Any of us could do it.

Anyway back on topic I really hope what rc has done makes everybody happy. I look forward to it.

truth be told, the file is more to my liking, some will like it and some won't.

i stopped releasing files because members forget the sole purpose behind
my mod, myself.

it may seem selfish but it's my time and effort going into it so i'm only concerned with my satisfaction.

i send it out to testers who i know want what i want, if others like it then use
it, if you don't use another file or do it themselves.

I've been BETA testing the 3 and 3.5 build of regularcats ini and here is my take so far, a bit of a mixture of good and bad for me.

Pro's
- Its hard to score, which is good
- You need to think about how your gonna approach each game
- Passing accuracy is low for both CPU and User

Con's
- CPU score far to easy, im talking 5 shots taken and 4 goals most times.
- Not enough fouls, even in derby/rival matches
- Ball takes too many bounces off players getting in the way

Hopefully this could be improved.

they never score more than 2 on me.

fouls are hard to increase unless you edit the database.

the bounces are random and happen if you don't control the ball,
if you addicted to the sprint button it will happen almost every time.

How would i edit the database to accommodate fouls? If i can solve that, its the most gripe i have with gameplays :D

After beta testing with 3.5 I can say the regular cat's AI is very promising.
I told him my impressions. But honesty, with respect for any other AI modder, his one is the best I've tested so far.

PROS :
- CPU passing % real
- Great overall pace
- Very good individual defensive positioning by the Cpu

CONS :
-Fouls . But he told me it's all about making choices . Sacrifice something to achieve something else. And this is not the priority for me.

I've been using a different beta which I believe is better than 3 or 3.5. Every game in my career has played out differently. I've been blown out 5-0. Won 3-2. Lost 1-0. Won 1-0. It's awesome.

which file is that ?

i am thinking of creating a switcher that you launch before you launch FIFA
which will randomly select one of the 8 files.

this way every time you use the switcher and play you will have a different
experience every time.

I'm using 5. I think your idea for a random switcher is pretty interesting. IMO though, it should only include 1, 3, and 5.

v.5 is the file where i broke down defensive aspects per backs, mids and forwards.

you think v.5 tops both base, v.3 and v.3.5 ?
