since the site's been suffering some structural changes lately, I thought maybe this could be the right time to have another go at this request.

I believe something like that was already tried, but for some reason it was decided not to persue the idea.

Link one is an ancient postboosting thread.
Link two is a thread of Horatiu's.
Link three was dead after a day.
Link four is a food thread, that strayed to music.
Link five was dead after two days.
Link six is a less successful postboosting thread.
Link seven is camp, not music.
Link eight is a solid, informative thread. Actually useful.
Link nine is not related to music, it's about two losers flaming each other over YouTube...
Link ten is about a gimmick, related to music by accident.


And that's all of the music related threads in two years time? No reason at all for a seperate forum. (here we go again)

I dont really care whether or not a music forum gets made, I suspect it would initially be quite popular but that this may soon tail off, but all I'm going to contribute to this discussion if that if anyone even suggests touching or merging the Movies Forum I will personally kill you. All of you. :jap:

I don't understand the argument that because there are so little music threads there needn't be a music forum.
I mean I'm sure people will start posting about music when there will be a music forum. People don't really know they're supposed to talk about music in the Player's Lounge.
For example was there so much talk in the lounge about movies before the movies forum was created? Was there so much talk about babes before the babes forum was created? No, I might say.

Ruud, don't be so picky man...all those threads are somehow related to music.
I just added links 3 and 9 to put on some volume in the request (H)

Zlatan said it all really, a Music Forum would encourage people to talk more about the subject...threads would be created within time and time should tell if it was worth it.

I'm just saying, why not give a try?

I agree, other than the "Last movie you watched" and the odd "I'm looking forward to [insert film title here]", you could say that there's not much going on in the movies forum either...

Music foum. (Y)

I'd actually not mind one, but I haven't really found a reason one should be started. There's so many people in favour though, it should be given a long trial run.

Yeah, take down a forum which already has more posts than General Games Discussion which has been around since the beginning of SG :| Has 50% more posts than the Babes forum which was created around the same time and has much more potential for post boosting. The Movies Forum is an SG success story and both those forums should be sacrificed long before it.
