I know he doesnt a lot of playing time, but i still think Van Der Meyde should be in the Dutch squad. When he actually does play for Inter, he does well. And why does Seedorf keep getting overlooked even though hes a regular starter for one the best clubs in the world?

San Marco won't select players who aren't regular starters which is why Davids wasn't selected either. Right now, he may have 2 to 3 players ahead of him on the right flank: Meerdink (AZ but out for 6+ months), Castelen (Feyenoord, in form) and Yildirim (Heerenveen, not selected this time). San Marco actually prefers to play Kuijt, who's a striker, ahead of him. All he needs to do is grab people's attention again but I don't see that happening at Inter where he comes in as a sub in extra time (i.e. game vs. Porto).

It all comes back to Mancini though. If he plays VDM on a regular basis than VDM would be selected for every match. But VDM has something to prove after a poor performance at EURO 2004.

The fact that he's at Milan has nothing to do with it. Four former coaches (Hiddink, Rijkaard, van Gaal and Advocaat) have all advised San Marco not to select Seedorf and I agree. Seedorf is famous for being lazy, causing disruptions and ignoring coach's advices. He's also an arrogant prick.

Second of all, Seedorf's role at Milan is very different than the role he's expected to play at Oranje. We play a more risky, offensive system which means that once in a while Seedorf has to come back and help defensively. Seedorf has shown to be incapable of doing that. He's great at Milan where he basically can play a free and attacking role. And yes, he can take great free kicks too. But we have players that are better suited for the national team than Seedorf. Arguably, Seedorf has done close to nothing for the national team ever since he was selected.
