It's been a while since I last visited this threads...

What has R. Lucescu done to deserve to be Romania's manager ?

He is the son of Mircea Lucescu.

And as long as he keeps calling up his relatives, we'll never have performance. He is really not fit for the NT coach job. As for a good coach for the NT, Shifty Petrescu is the only Romanian I can think of.

The only thing I miss from Piturca's reign is the players singing the anthem together. The moments from EURO 2008 remain memorable. When all the stadium and the players sang "Desteapta-te, romane!"... I miss that.

Anyway, congratulations to Unirea Urziceni. They deserve all the respect.

Good thing we have Florescu as #10.. he's waaaaay better than the likes of Costea , B. Stancu etc.

In all seriousness though. I think Romania is in the middle of a generational shift and there some serious lack of talent in the Romanian league.

The Chivus and the Mutus of them all are at their end of their careers and new blood is needed.
