you do know that ronaldinho is strong, fast and technical too. do you ?Andrejs said:Ronaldinho is over-rated, I rather have Fletcher- strong, fast, technical.
Gnidrologist said:Ronaldinho surely is legend already in terms of skill and showmanship, just like Best who couldn't have an international success and Cruyff who was unlucky also. Zico is considered a legend, but he haven't won WC and he has only played in Brazilian league if i'm not mistaking.
I disagree with those who said that he's just better than anyone else in today's football, but not revolutionary like Pele and Maradona. Henry, Baggio, Ronaldo are in all time top 20-30 of course, but I never enjoyed watching them in action to a such extent as I (and many of you probably) do in case of Ronnie. A lot of stuff he does has never been seen before and it's not just random tricks once in the while, he does it in almost EVERY match and not just for showing off like C.Ronaldo and whonot.
I haven't seen 2-3 top class defenders freezed on spot and not daring to even try and tackle a man standing in front of them for a 10-15 seconds and not even making any fints. Scenes like that i've only seen in videos from 60's and 70's when likes of Garrincha, Pele and Rivellino did their mesmerizing stuff on poor oponents.
Now, considering how physicall, fast and defensive football has became, seeing such unbelievable dribbles, shots, pases done with such a witty attitude and ease is something truly magic. We are relly lucky to be able to witness it live.
If Ronaldinho won't fall below he's standart in WC or in next few years in general, he will be alongside with Pele and Maradona without a doubt. Umm.. no, he will be anyway in my book.

I'd disagree with you when you say that Zidane is the only one of the past 15 years to be a legend. Baggio would be one if he had made the pk and Italy had won, considering all he did that world cup. Then there's Romario who's performance in the 94 world cup can never be forgotten, not to mention the goal scoring machine he is. Ronaldo had his few years of brilliance before his injuries but he's still a decent striker and another world cup could secure his spot. Lastly I think Maldini is worthy of legendary status, his only fault is never winning an international title.
Ronaldinho is definitely on his way to becoming a legend and honestly all it would take would be a brilliant performance in the upcoming world cup and a few more years at the very top.
Matthew le Tissier, an England midfielder, played for Southampton. He rejected offers from clubs like Juventus during his peak, because of his loyalty and love to his club. Rare attitude to be found in modern English football. He fights relegation battle after another during his Southampton years. By the time he retired, he was considered to be one of the legends of the EPL by the fans of English football.INFESTA said:Indeed, you don't have to win a WC to be a Legend. But you most definitely have to win and be successful. Best was european champion, won several league titles, best player awards, etc., same for Cruyff. This is a cliche but still true: without your team you are nothing. That is the core of the game: working together to defeat a foe.
LEGEND! Well mentioned. He won goal of the season two years in a row. Scored so many ludicrously good goals. He could have been an all time great with his talent (just look at the goals, and quantity of them from a midfield role in a **** team). I am a fan of entertaining football and great goals, and he is one of the best ever at that. It is a shame he never won anything, but just look at the video clips. Stunning.Hans said:Matthew le Tissier, an England midfielder, played for Southampton. He rejected offers from clubs like Juventus during his peak, because of his loyalty and love to his club. Not the same level as Maradona and such, but anyone who follows the England League from the late 80`s will surely remember that guy, and for Southampton fans particularly.
