Save My Career ! - A new tool from Rinaldo

one thing that hasnt worked for me is i edit a players appearance and add a few other things (gk kits) in creation master, run the save my career and it backs up fine

i go in game, the gk kits have been added fine, everything is great however the appearance of the player hasnt changed in my manager mode career, but if i just edit the player from the main menu it shows the changed appearance

There are some data that you can change in the db that are not reflected in your career because the career file contains its own copy of those data, among these are:
team rosters
players attributes

"Save My Career" just makes your career "compatible" with your new database but does not import the new data in your career.

In order to edit completely your career you should wait for the "Manager Master" the next tool that is under development.

Rinaldo i used this fantastic tool and saved my career but every time i play from then, the game slow down for a few seconds(more than 1 time) and then continue normally.is this a bug?can i fixe it?

Rinaldo when do you think you are going to release your Manager Master? i am playing at the 10th season of career mode and now my game always crash at a match and really stuck there i can go any further than that i can send you the files if you want to have a look at them?

p/s one of my player (found from scouting) has no growth information and after the match suddenly his name got lost and when i want to go to advance the game got crash over and over and over again.........

I had the same problem but in my 3rd season. My career kept crashing at one particular game. I had previously used the save my career once. Not sure if it's related to that or just a bug in the game itself. Fifa 08 seems to be very buggy.

If you think that Manager Master is going to help you with career problems after database editing then you may well be mistaken since my understanding is that it will enable you to make changes to a valid career not re-shape an invalid one. Hopefully if my impression is wrong then Rinaldo will correct me.

If you like you could send the files (manager mode data file, FIFA.DB and ENG.DB, or whatever language database you have changed) to me via email (ZIPped up into a single archive, please) and I'll take a look and see if I can figure out what is wrong.

The lack of a player's name is a standard representation of the 30 player limit bug, as is no growth information. I should be able to fix it for you if that is all that is wrong, or I can send you the beta of EAFFAnalyser and you can fix it for yourself (if it isn't too much trouble I'd like to see the data files anyway because I am collecting damaged careers and those generated from other than the standard database are rarities in my test cases)

my squad has 22 players and 2 players on loan. and a correction that is i am now in the 11th season (i really hope i can finish this career rather than start over)

p/s the problem is with my 2nd gk his name is m. starke (i found him from scouting) where he has no growth information and after the last match his name will be lost including all other data about him.

No. The limits on table sizes are hard coded into the shape of the saved data files and who knows what related logic is buried deep within the executable code.

I've sent you back an updated manager mode data file with the problem player removed from your team and returned to the youth pool (you will find him on your shortlist if you'd like to sign him up again). The email describes another issue, with the fixtures table, so if the game still crashes then let me know and I'll fix the fixture too (although it doesn't involve your team and has already been completed, so I doubt that it will cause a problem)

I am aware that there are a number of CAREER.INI parameters that affect the size of teams but to the best of my knowledge none of them has any effect on the size of the areas in the manager mode data file that hold tables that are affected by the 30 player limit bug. I used CM08 to import Spartak Moscow and Zenit and therafter, I realised I cant load my saved games anymore. Upon reading a few threads, I then realised my old saved files cannot be used if I have used CM08.

But after running "Save My Career" (SMC) for my tournament saved files, I am still not able to run, and the game just automatically exits. I re-ran the diagnostic on the SMC and it only indicates that the file is completely OK.

Is there anything else I can try to fix?
