U say ur embarrased to be a Man U fan... why?
Some free-flowing thoughts on the game after having watched it a second time......
First half
-Portugal played fantastic counter-attack football
-the Netherlands playing very predictable football.....Seedorf very inaffective in the playmaking role....sluggish, lousy crosses....overalll, bad outing
-Figo owned which ever wing he was on......boy is Cocu slow...sheesh. I realize that reizger was getting off position, but I didn't realize Cocu was this slow....Figo tore him up, man. Very inspiring runs from him
-Yellows for celebrations......F ucking unnecessary...why are the ruling bodies sooooo authoritative? They're almost as bad as the ones ruling the NFL......let them celebrate for god's sakes and stop constricting that aspect of the sport.
-Very tenacious and uncompromising defending by this kid called Miguel....he tackled well, anticipated the on coming passes awesomely....goodness, he was just great!
-beautiful ball by Deco to Maniche, delicious, begging to be netted ball by Maniche to Pauleta....disappointing strike by Pauleta (respect to VDS......this guy has impressed greatly in this tournamenT. I hardly ever got excited by him in the EPL)
-Overmars.....best Dutch player in the first half....always looked threatening, made very awesome runs against the Portuguese defence like Figo did against the Dutch. Outstanding half by him
-the goal by RVN was kosher....harsh decision by the ref
Second half
*obvious* ....hmmmmm....why sub Overmars> He was linking the midfield to the rest of the attack....did he pickup an injury? This substitution dumbfounded me....an out and out winger for an out an out striker that's heavily dependable on others for goal scoring opportunities.....makes absolutely no sense......he should've subbed Cocu instead
I'll reiterate....Cocu......
-A very awe-inspiring goal by Maniche....but credits to fake Ronaldo for the heads up in taking that short corner...boy was that swiftly taken...so rapidly so that the cameraman couldn't recover in time to show us the goal live....lol...anyway, it was a well deserved goal by the Portuguese, first team in this tourney that had the balls to actually venture out and attack while they had the lead....they didn't sit on that one goal lead (massive respect to them)...they contained and absorbed those poor attacking attempts by the Dutch and countered very well.....very brilliant, Carlos.
again, Seedorf was entrusted with too much responsibility....he doesn't have that sort of role in Milan (that lousy egotist)....he had a very horrible game and a very mediocre tournament......and for those that are complaining about VDV being non-existent in the second half......he couldn't do anything about it....he hardly saw the ball and by this time, the Dutch were resigned to just playing long ball type of football....I don't think he's built for that sort of game....it was very desperate and sad to see this squad settling for long balls
the ambience of the stadium.......beautiful...fantastic stuff by the crowd....and the Portuguese anthem.......that piece of music is beautifully constructed, man. I love the choruses even though I don't understand a bit of it...just love the way the fans sing along with it....very hair-raising and heart-stirring.....the sort of music that might make you consider about overthrowing a government....revolutionary type stuff, man....It makes you want to get up off of your lousy, lazy ass and go overrun city hall and slap up your local mayor before making outrageous demands and stuff....

Great game and the reffing was great. He let the players play and he was in the right positions to assess the play. Not only that, he saw the diving. Deco should have been given a yellow, just like Robben. Figo was awesome and so was Maniche. That was a kick ass goal.
Hope Greece sees Portugal in the final, then the first game of the tourny invoves the same teams as the last game.The dutch didn't look sharp, almost like they weren't there.

Man the parties were wild yesterday. I went to bed at 6.30 am. I switched jersey´s with a dutch fan from Amesterdam. He got my Ronaldo jersey and now im a proud owner of a Stam jersey. Guess ill have to buy another one today. But with a diferent name this time. The name will be Maniche. This guy has been class in the last 2 years. He is so humble, he definitely deserves some spotlight too.
The dutch fans were class yesterday night. I lost count of the beers i drank yesterday. Much of those payed by dutch supporters. Altough their team lost they also celebrated with us.
Now im going to buy some Gurosin, cause the hangover is killing me
