PREVIEW
======

When the Serie A calendar was drawn up, many thought that it would come down to this game that would decide the destination of the Scudetto for 2004-5. Amazingly so it has happened. THE GAME is poised to be a potential Scudetto decider with Milan and Juve locked on points. And to think that not too long ago Juve had an 8 point lead in the race when the doubters thought that the Scudetto was gone once again to the Old Lady. But Milan being the fly in the ointment just didn't give up and amazingly clawed its way back into the race thanks to some heroics from Dribble Boy & Co.

Juve have had a refresher while Milan played under extreme pressure and tense conditions on INTERNATIONAL turf to get a desired result in the dying minutes from an Ambrosini headed goal to make a historic 10th ECC/UCL final appearance and become the first side to appear in 5 UCL finals! :thmbup:

Now Juve have imposed a strict press silence so much so that the toilet windows have been sealed during their training sessions. :tongue: They don't want to speak to the press and answer the usual questions. :stuckup:

The Devil welcomes the Old Lady to the Devil's Den to serve the last rights and lay her to rest once and for all. Obviously she will be nailed first. The Sceptor to be nailed right through the heart and not that other nailing some of you freaks were thinking about. :stuckup: The funeral takes place at 15:00 UK time and as in some customs there will be a celebration after it to celebrate a tough competitor who eventually could not withstand the fire and choked due to the smoke.

M I L A N

"Lucky Milan" is the new name given by all the jealous followers of football who would love to be in a position where Milan is right now. The basic principle that this Milan is revolving around is to continue fighting till the last breath. The team just doesn't give up. When you strive for that effort then the SupeRNaturaL helps you along the way. Rule of nature. Everything balances it out so if the input towards the cause is there then the output will come from the SupeRNaturaL. :devil: This Milan side has won down to 10 men and down a goal vs. Lazio. This Milan side has won against Roma in a very difficult build-up to a very difficult game. This Milan side has defeated the city rivals and maintained the balance of power in the grand city of Milano. The side is special with fighters on the pitch. It doesn't give up. :fero:

There is always a hidden gear and Milan can just raise to a level to get the result. It may not be fancy at times. There can be struggles but who said the ride would be smooth as the Monza circuit? Ancelotti's Milan does the necessary bit and doesn't overdo it. Minimum Input - Maximum Output. The key area is that that Minimum Input is just enough to get the maximum out of the game / tie. It was going to be necessary to adopt such an approach for a side that had won the UCL and Scudetto in successive seasons and was now aiming for a double! When the bar is raised and the aim becomes difficult it won't always be a smooth run to the end.

J U V E N T U S

Juve started off brilliantly under Capello and steamed through phase 1 of the Scudetto chase with not many problems. They looked ominous and uncatchable so much so that they haven't relinquished their grip on first spot but it is slipping now. It's a cliffhanger and I see the Old Lady slipping as was the Lady in the first scene of that movie. :D It's a matter of time before Juve slips and falls hard. :skull:

It is mind-boggling and perplexing to see Juve still at number 1 position after so many matchdays have come and gone. It is like that Winnie The Pooh Dilemma.

Winnie The Pooh Dilemma

I for one never understood what was going through the heads of Disney animators when they created Winnie the Pooh. Why the fvck would you make the bear wear a red sweater and during Winter editions / Christmas Editions make him wear hats and scarfs as well but never put pants / trousers / underwear on the fvcker? :wth: Winnie The Pooh is the Ron Jeremy of cartoons! Never keeps his pants on!

Coming back to Juve it is the same thing. How can a team that plays such awful football this season be at number 1 with 4 matchdays to go??? How how how? :fero: It just doesn't make sense! They do deserve credit for being at the top as does Winnie The Pooh for still maintaining his standing in the cartoon community even though he has flaws or no pants.

Probable Starting Line-Up(s)
=====================

---------------
---> Milan <---
---------------

4-3-1-2 formation

--------------------Dida---------------------

--Cafu-------Stam--------Nesta------Maldini-

--------------------Pirlo----------------------

-------Gattuso-----------------Seedorf--------

--------------------Kaka-----------------------

-----------Sheva---------Crespo-------------

1. Ancelotti will ditch the X-Mas tree for obvious reasons. We lost a game with the X-Mas tree for the first time since that loss to Juve two seasons ago in the Delle Alpi. It failed on Wednesday because he didn't put the right men in the starting line-up. It was not in sync with the strategy he deployed.

2. Good news is that Maldini returns and he has shrugged off the effects of a lethal drop-kick of Vennegoor of Hesselink! What an intervention but what a bad kick to suffer! That happens in movies!

3. Ancelotti has rested Crespo now for some time and it may well be that he was planning him to start for this game purposely so he rotated him in that manner. Even though JDT has come on and made a difference I think that Crespo should start in this game as his aerial + physical presence is something that is required to penetrate Juve's strongest department.

4. Let's make it a funeral to remember. They are hurting. They are injured and they come for a peaceful death. Let's give them that. It should be a slow one though. 95 mins is about right.

-------------------
---> Juventus <---
-------------------

4-4-1-1 formation

-----------------------Buffon ---------------------------

--Pessotto------Thuram------Cannavaro------Zambrotta--

--Camoranesi----Emerson----Tacchinardi-------Nedved---

---------------------------Del Piero------------------
-------------------Trezeguet---------------------------

1. First position to look at will be the right back position. Pessotto has the experience and the head for such a game while Zebina is not the best of performers and in addition to that has not had a good time playing against Milan. It's the 'Black Beast' effect. :devil:

2. Central midfield is another question mark. Does the Don go for the ultra-talented Blasi, missed passes Appiah or the old pro Tacchinardi who has been in such a situation before? I picked Tacchi as he seems to be the one that would be the better man for the position.

3. It is a pity that Dribble Boy won't be on the pitch because it would've been a delight to see him make a mockery of himself in the San Siro in front of the Curva Sud. :( I am sad with all my heart that he will not be on the pitch. His impact would've been visible to the whole world.

4. The potent finisher Trezeguet returns and that is not good news. Whatever he is, the one thing that goes with him is that he can finish and finish quite sweetly. Dangerous in the air and dangerous with the left and decent with the right. He and Nedved look like the most likely goalscorers if indeed Juve do score. If these two players are handled properly then I don't see Juve scoring from open play. Cannavaro on set pieces is the obvious danger man. Emerson will put in a shabby performance as usual as he saves his worst for Milan. It's the 'Black Beast' effect.

Tactics
======

---------------------------
--- Ancelotti [M I L A N] ---
---------------------------

Ancelotti knows that our schedule is the tougher one on paper and this is our direct chance to take a decisive lead in the Scudetto race. He has mentioned that the players are not that tired and can get through this. I get the feeling that even he knows that this game and UCL Final are the two important games where he will require the services of his full strength 11. For other games he will rotate surely so he will try to give it his all in this encounter.

A) Playing at home and playing a weakened Juve to decide a Scudetto is reason enough to do them good.

B) Juve's midfield is not that creative but their team overall is effective in getting an odd goal. Nedved, Camoranesi and Trezeguet would be the players that stand out offensively. All the others can range from Good -> What the fvck was that?

C) Try to get the control in midfield. It is something that has been lacking in Milan's play over the 90mins. We have phases where we control the midfield but it hasn't been at the level of the Utd. games where we dictated the play and tempo of the match.

D) Better finishing this time than the last time when we visited the Bianconeri. More chances, more shots on goal and more goals would be good enough. Just run 'em ragged. :stuckup:

-------------------------------
--- Capello [J U V E N T U S] ---
-------------------------------

Juve lost out in Europe once again as they played one of the most gutless games of the season against a very determined Liverpool side who really wanted to get the result they came for. Juve was $hit scared and made a hash of it making Liverpool's job more easier. Nothing to take away from Pool. They were ready for anything to be thrown at them ... even the kitchen sink! Juve had nothing to throw or didn't want to throw. It was a different Juve from the one that faced Real in Torino.

A) This is Juve's realistic chance to win something big in the season. It is a trophy that they are way too familiar with winning it a record number of times. Juve is the toughest side to beat in the Serie A and the easiest side to beat in a European final. Story of their life. This is a Serie A game. They can't be underestimated no matter how good the odds look. Capello will know that too and will make the final war-cry for his jailbirds.

B) It would be a mistake to come searching for the draw as Juve will end up with nothing. They have to come for the win. As daunting a task as that may seem to be, it is not impossible. Dribble Boy not playing is a blessing in disguise and Juve is not that weak as is made out to be. They lack creativity but their mechanical game is still spot on.

C) Juve will play on the break and use the wings. Capello will know that he can exploit Milan from the wings and try to do that. The thing is that the game in Eindhoven was very different but that is Juve's best bet. To use Zambro and Camo on the flanks to create something and Nedved in the middle to do some damage from either passes or strikes himself.

KEY BATTLES
==========

Shevchenko Vs. Thuram

Crespo Vs. Cannavaro

Kaka Vs. Emerson

Seedorf Vs. Camoranesi

Pirlo Vs. Nedved

Gattuso Vs. Zambrotta

Nesta Vs. Del Piero :D

Stam Vs. Trezeguet

The important one is the Pirlo Vs. Nedved battle. It will define THE FUNERAL.

KEY MEN
=======

Seedorf
--------

He has taken a lot of criticism after his game in Eindhoven. Nonetheless Clarence is a very valuable asset for us and in games like these he shows us why he is so important for us. Seedorf had a bad game but he was not playing in his position and his role was different. He'll bounce back. He is one of the reasons this Milan side is special. He is a big match player ready for the big occasions. The opponent is big as well with a set of sweater puppets sagging below the belly button as she is an Old Lady now.

Trezeguet
----------

Juve needs goals to survive in this game. Their potent scorer is the best bet to deliver that classic sucker punch to Milan. He can't create a goal but he can score an unbelievable goal. A dangerous striker who has to be kept in check. He has not hit form as he has had an injury ridden season. He will surely want to put his signature on this game of all games for the Scudetto showdown and make his scarce contribution one of the most important ones this season.

Prediction

I don't have much to say in this. There is one thing to say though. Genio did post that Milan has not a Scudetto in beating Juve in that post from the Milan official site. We have beaten quite a few records under Ancelotti. Last season was record breaking season and this season records have fallen as well. History would be against us if we were to defeat Juve but this Milan side does have a knack of defying history and raising the bar. The records speak for themselves.

Juve is the fresher side. Juve is the side with the lesser pressure to win this game or the title as Milan is gunning for the double.

Saying that, Juve is meeting the wrong team in the wrong place at the wrong time. :devil: Juve is on the Highway to Hell and it ain't pretty. The Beginning of the End. :devil:

NOT

That "preview" is plain rubbish. God it was so freakin corny...I feel embarassed even reading it. "Juve is on the Highway to Hell and it ain't pretty. The Beginning of the End" ... :| ... err... yeah... i mean who talks like that ?

Juve will win today and then they will go on to win the Scudetto. Milan won't win the CL either.

You guys have used up all your lifelines and much more than your fair share of "luck". Doing things like keeping Zlatan suspended doesn't help your cause either.

It all ends tonight.

Newspaper Line Ups

MILAN: Dida; Cafu, Nesta, Stam, Maldini; Gattuso, Pirlo, Ambrosini; Kakà; Shevchenko, Tomasson.
JUVENTUS: Buffon; Pessotto, Thuram, Cannavaro, Zambrotta; Camoranesi, Emerson, Appiah, Nedved; Del Piero, Trezeguet.

Most newspapers agree with Juventus' line up but the Milan one is mixed with some putting Seedorf instead of Ambro.

I would have normally dissed the decision to start Ambro but hey, he deserves it.
