Btw any rules on playing players out of position? Suppose I have many injuries or many out of the tournament and I have no wingers left. Can I play my backup striker there? Even though he may never have played this position.

Yeah there's a rule:

Players can't be placed out of their "natural" positions.

In the example you gave you'd have to adapt your formation to a 4-4-2 or a 3-5-2. In case that back-up striker was minimally comfortable playing in the wings, you could keep the 4-3-3.

That would be tricky though. Suppose I pick Lahm as my left back and he plays the whole tournament as DM, would it still be OK?

Yes, because it's Lahm.

Even if it wasn't Lahm it'd still be ok, because it's not your fault if the coach decides to play him somewhere else on the field. As long as YOU don't place a player out of his usual position(s), you won't be breaking any draft rules.

One of the disadvantages of this draft is that I can play a shit looking team and still score very highly. For example I can play Rooney as a CM, 2 very prolific strikers up front, van Persie as a winger with no defensive midfielders and score highly. This does not mean that it is the best team. It is kind of fantasy football.

Nothing much we can do about that though.

Nothing wrong with Fantasy Football. I remember on Gareth Bale's breakthrough year I was able to scoop him as left back, and also a lot of people got Michu as a midfielder on his first year at Swansea.

Yeah who scored lists all the positions they've played this season (starting)

I would restrict positions to someone who has played at least 5 games in that position in the last year. Maybe even 10.

What if I pick Alexis or any other player who plays in a different position for his national team? For example, Alexis has played RW for Barcelona and ST 2-3 times, but he always plays ST for Chile. On whoscored, RW is his only position. On transfermarkt is different. There are more players with this problem, I think.
