I would actually like to watch Sheva playing English Football but not at Chelsea (H), would be cool if he moved to arsenal, altough I think Henry is better suited.

No, I meant that Sheva wouldnt reach that status at Chelsea. At Milan he is only an inch away.

He isn't at the level of Maldini, but he's definitely a legend already. The list of honors he's won with the Club and his personal achievements on top of that make him one. Mind you, he's not a demi-god like Maldini, but he's a legend, or should be.

Legends as far back as the 1930's are still remembered and revered at Chelsea. Did you not notice the outpouring of emotion recently when Peter Osgood passed away? Many players at many clubs reach legendary status and are adored in every league in the world.

I was being sarcastic because I thought Chelsea were treated unfairly.

AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko is set to make a decision on his future by the end of next week.

The Ukraine international announced earlier this month that he wanted to leave Milan after seven years at the San Siro, and Chelsea are keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

However, Milan yesterday offered Shevchenko a two-year extension to his current contract, which ends on June 30, 2009, in an effort to keep him in Italy.

Shevchenko is considering that proposal while holidaying on the French Riviera, and will meet the Milan board on his return next week.

'I am evaluating (Milan's offer). I will return to Italy on the 24th or 25th (of May) and will meet them very soon,' he said in Gazzetta dello Sport.

Shevchenko played down suggestions that he had already opted for a move to the Premiership, saying: 'As I have said before, I have never stated that I have decided to go to Chelsea.

'I only said that I was evaluating that possibility for family reasons and to organise my future.

'I am evaluating every possibility. My time at Milan is special. The fans are special. And everyone in Milan is special. I have been able to learn a different type of football, to win and to win the Balon D'Or (European Player of the Year).'

One factor which could sway Shevchenko's decision is his desire to learn English - which he admits is difficult to achieve at present.

The 29-year-old, who is married to American model Kristen Pazik, explained: 'The problem is me, because I do not know my wife or my son's language and when can I study?

'When one is a footballer at a great club you have very little time to study.'

With Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich backing Chelsea, money is unlikely to be an obstacle for the London club if they decide to try to sign Shevchenko from Milan.

However the striker, who will captain Ukraine at this summer's World Cup, insists his final decision will not be based on financial rewards.

'Money has never been my first priority,' revealed the former Dynamo Kiev striker.

'Milan have done what they can. It is only me that can reflect. That is why I am here in the Cote D'Azur. I am resting and I am trying to avoid being influenced about a decision that should be only mine.'

Shevchenko was Milan's top scorer with 19 goals in 28 league appearances last season, while he also netted nine times in the Champions League.

Good I hope Shevchenko leaves and goes to the EPL, even if its Chelsea he'll be better suited there along with Ballack, their new acquistion.

GALLIANI: 'Milan will not sell Shevchenko'

Let him rot on the bench (H)
Man, I dont know what you were talking about adoration, but if thats how you would have him be rewarded for years of service to that shirt, then deamn

I love threads like this becasue of the delicious, self-ass-biting comments people rush to judgement on. If this seemed bad, 'MilanMania' was a nightmare. "F*ck you sheva you whore" or "he lied to us" etc etc were all people could type. Barely anyone defended the guy.

Flash forward a week later and he now is mulling over a contract extension for the rest of his playing days. And thank god for that. I would salivate if I saw him with Mourinho holding up a Chelsea shirt, but that still doesnt make it right. Certain things were just meant to be. Shearer, Puyol, Maldini, Henry. These guys are their clubs, and you couldnt envision them in different colors. Same goes for Sheva. Take the money and stay where you belong.

And from those quotes, are we to assume he is completely unable to communicate with his son? The kid is only two anyway. There is plenty of time to learn English

Not too far-fetched. I hear he's not too keen on Tottenham (because of how they treated his friend Rebrov) and Arsenal would be the place that pissed off Spurs the most.

Crespo and Torres with money to spare, i'd imagine. Add those two to Pippo, Gilardino and Kaka behind them, and they would barely miss a beat

--------------Dida
Gallas--Kaladze--Nesta--Maldini/Janku
-------------Pirlo
----Gattuso
-----------------Sneijder
----------Kaka
-----Gilardino----Crespo

Bench: Cafu, Maldini/Janku, Ambrosini, Pippo, Torres, Seedorf, GK, plus Gourcuff, Vogel, or Serginho

That team would mop up with anyone, and they would have money to spare, too
