EDIT: I've decided to turn this thread into a general place for me to talk about films I've seen. It would be great if you guys could recommend me some films too :)

I just saw this film last night on Channel 4 and my god was it awesome. A directorial masterpiece with some godly acting performances and a fantastic yet believable storyline. I've never rated Tim Robbins before as an actor but damn did he do it well, and Morgan Freeman was superb as always. It was dark and moody, yet with elements of comedy and lightheartedness, and the ending was totally unpredictable and totally brilliant. Definately the best prison drama I've ever seen, Shawshank Redemption goes straight into my top ten and I strongly recommend that anyone who hasnt seen it does so.

It did bad in boxoffice, but great on video. It's based on a stephen king book, I think. Anything based on his books turn gold (except Dream Catcher and unkown people making it). The man with the brid was a cool guy, (SPOILER):o to bad he had die.:o I thought it had a great plot more than anything.

The Shawshank Redemption would definatly be up there with one of my favoutie movies.

Tim Robbins definatly put on a fantastic performance, one of the best.... what a great movie it was :)

I absolutly loved this movie, I want to buy it, but, it costs so much money! Because it is a good film. :)

I opted for Pulp Fiction last night. Seemed we were spoilt for choice for movies....
Yeah, Pulp Fiction is my second favourite film of all time, but I have it on DVD (and a spare copy on DVD incase the first one breaks) so I watch it pretty much every week anyway. What was with the channels pulling their big guns out last night, it was like christmas, every channel except five had a film on I would have liked to have seen.

It's definately shot straight into my top 10 aswell - I will probably try to buy the DVD when I can, though it's an 18 and after than Manhunt thing they're so tough on selling 18s.

Aye, five just had another one of their trademark 'Erotic drama' nights.

Steve mcqueen. He was going to play rambo, that would have made suck even more.
WTF? One of the main reasons Rambo is sh!te is because of Sylvester 'I cant act' Stallone. With a decent actor like Steve McQueen at the helm it might have been semi-watchable.
