So here's what I've done so far, wall of text incoming.
>added the period appropiate name and logo to all competitions (coca-cola championship, bwinliga, orange ekstraklasa etc)
>added the period appropiate badges and names to all teams (name changes mostly in the austrian league, wacker innsbruck was wacker tirol,sturm graz was puntigamer sturm graz, pasching was fc superfund etc)
>changed the objectives for every single team in the game, which in turn got tournament mode working (it crashed because there were 2nd tier teams like juventus with the objective to win the league title or premier league teams with the objective to gain promotion)
>changed the generic adboard
>adjusted the attributes of every single premier league player as well as a few other teams, here's how it works:
The fifa 07 engine works differently than the 14 one, with it having less attributes and some of them working differently. For instance, player potential is used for regens in 07, so you could have 34 year old 65 rated players with 85 potential, since that's what EA considered they were worth in their prime and what the game uses for regens, every regen in 07 is a copy of an existing player. Obviously I've changed it so that old player's potential is the same as their overall. Also, 07 had 20 year old 65 rated players with a potential of also 65, which also doesn't make sense so I changed that too.
Besides that, there's attributes like balance and agility, which are inversely proportional to a player's height for the most part. With the conversion of the db from 07 there are 195 cm tall players with 90 balance, which makes them too hard to knock off the ball, affecting the gameplay negatively. there are also short players with very poor balance and agility, making them useless in a duel. For the players that are also in fifa 12, I took those two attributes from there, for the others I just used a reasonable number based on their height and weight.
Crossing also is a bit different in 07, there are plenty of central midfielders with high crossing, which is uncommon in the modern titles, same thing with vision. There are so many defenders with ball control and vision rated at around 65 but with dribbling at 35, again, something that's different in the modern fifas.
Also, the top players are too quick and strong,while the lower ones are also worse physically, which most certainly ain't the case now. EA didn't really pay all that much attention to the lesser known players, people in this thread asked for the romanian league so I decided to take a look at the romanian national team, EA clearly didn't care about it too much, many players had the wrong position (munteanu being lm when every source I found says he was mostly a centre mid,ghionea a 56 rated cb with only 52 strength despite being 1,87cm 82kg etc). I also found random ~70 rated players that have some ridiculous attribute like 92 crossing for no good reason, don't know what EA was thinking back in those days.
The player overalls themselves are based on the 05/06 season, obviously there were no weekly updates then so I decided to change many of them based on how the teams performed in the 06/07 season.
Here you can see Stuttgart's team, which won the league that season, for instance Cacau and Gomez went from 73,70 to 80, while Tomasson from 83 to 80 since he barely played.

Here is Parma, specifically Luca Cigarini, who had his breakthrough season in 06/07 and was seen as one of Italy's top prospects, so I changed him from EA's 47 ovr/ 61 pot to 65/87

Final example is Man Utd, Rooney was 93/93 and had some ridiculous attributes such as 90 strength, which no player of his size can have in the modern games. Since he was just 20 I lowered his ovr to 87, while keeping the 93 potential. Vidic also went from 79 to 84

Despite many players' overalls being the same I still went and changed some physicalls as well as adjusting the potential, I'm hoping one day we can get career mode working so this would make it more realistic.
I know most of you probably don't care about any of this, but I thought I'd share anyway
