I'd also like to stress that when Aimar entered the match we had some clear chances on goal, although failed to score.. He is as influential to us as is Artur.
Well, obviously I wanted the win but seeing as the players only started to pressure deeper in the field and actually run when in disadvantage, you can't really say Maritimo didn't deserve to win, as they seemed to fight more during the match and we did miss our chances.. it was perhaps too late. Had the players maintained a consistent competitive attitude we may have come out with a different result..

Don't know what to think of this, at least he's Portuguese.. He won't be a starter though, so here's hoping he maintains a professional attitude.

So, the transfer deadline is almost up and we need a left-back. There's nothing on the media about it though, so chances are nothing will change till the end of the season..
I liked Emerson in the beginning of the season, he's okay, decent player, but not good enough to be a regular starter. Clearly the weakest link, causing Garay to constantly provide some cover for him and almost every team Benfica plays tries to exploit this vulnerability on the left side. It's annoying as **** having to watch this every match
Also, LFV refused to negotiate Capdevelho with Deportivo. Yeah, that's a wise move because he got so much playing time and the coach has so much faith on him.
Even now Jorge Jesus said if César Peixoto accepted to play LB he would be a regular starter, which would make Capdevila a 3rd option for the position..
How about selling the dude and get a LB? I think this is a priority and it's pretty obvious for anyone who actually follows our matches.

So Capdevila got in CL squad and Enzo its out, Amorim out to Braga in loan, David Simao in Academica on loan and Fabio Faria went to Rio Ave. Peixoto terminated his contract and signed with Gil Vicente.

Yeah, the positive about that deal is it allows the Swede to be followed more closely and in the Liga, even if sometimes adapting to a new league takes time is still better than watching his videos and matches with his previous team, which we have (I assume..).
The logic of the B team is to feed the main squad, and I really prefer the vast majority to be Portuguese. Seeing for recent players we're linked that doesn't seem to be the case though..
The league cup is a secondary trophy, and in my opinion we should really be focusing on the league and CL... Nevertheless, seeing as there aren't any midweek games we should use some of the key players and give some chances to others as well. JJ has been doing this well this year, of course our quality bench sure helps..

What a performance from Nélson Oliveira! Very complete player already, he seems to be living up to his potential on FM 
Rodrigo good as well, but that's old news.
It's tough to leave them on the bench though.. Nélson is clearly a player who deserves more chances, hope he gets them.
Saviola on the other hand is different from what he was when he arrived, now days he's much better at passing and assisting than finishing, can't score blatant chances..
