Who should partner Pique? Puyol was a very good, comanding defender that Spain has missed in this World Cup.

Edit: Bartra? Don't know much about him but thought he was a fullback. Would he provide a comanding presence like Puyol? Because Pique won't provide that.

You know that Spain has more players than just Barca's overrated youth products, right? I'd be very surprised if Deulofeu plays well enough in the next two years to earn a starting berth over Mata, Silva, Iniesta or Isco. Deulofeu doesn't have the starting berth at Barca guaranteed (if things go your way he'd be 5th on the depth chart for the attacking band) so I can't seem him proving himself enough with those minutes.

It's also kind of contradictory to say that Deulofeu will become good and that we should wait and see while placing him in the same lineup as Iniesta who will be 32 when 2016 rolls in and 34 in the next tournament Deulofeu has a proper chance to start in.

Better maybe, but "much better" is a stupid exagerration. Mata made 17 assists and scored 12 goals the season before. He was Chelsea player of the year.
