I dont think it will ever be brought back. BUT if it was
1.it would have to be open top or high roof with no stand above the terrace
2.No fences
3.Use railings to like cut the terrace into sections to give room
4.Cameras play a huge role and are need for terraces especially.
5. Police on the stands

Haven't been to a real football match, ever. :( Okay, once I was in Oulu watching some local 2nd division team play against Leeds, but that's it. But I guess it would be pretty much the same as in other sports, mostly sitting, but standing up when there's something major going on, or to celebrate, or to yell at someone. (H)

There had hardly ever been problems with terracing in the UK the main problem with Hillsbrough was the **** police work and organizing of the match by the FA, there was loads of room in the corner of the leppings lane end stand but the majority of fans were never directed to it and so over crowding occurred in the main standing part.

The majority of away fans for what seems to me to be every team stand all game even if it is all seating and for me being in an away end has always had a better atmosphere and made the game better even if I didn't give a **** about the result. I'd love to stand all match at home games too but the majority of fans don't so you just get in the way of the person behind you.

It never will be reintroduced to the UK which is a huge shame for me, but if it was to be then it wouldn't be too different to it is now, you would just need police or stewards to direct people to where they should stand and keep exits clear.

Germany has it right in my opinion, standing and seating combined, all standing is just not fair on those who aren't able to for prolonged periods and some people just prefer to support their team stood up, it also looks more impressive than people sitting giving an intimidating atmosphere.

Standing for the full 90 minutes. I'm usually nervous during a match up to a point where I cannot sit even for a minute..
I'm usually not aware if it did change the atmosphere though :D
