Mendoza only signed a contract to play for the second half of the season and did really well early on but then his performances started to drop A LOT as the end of the season neared and at the end the coaching staff decided to not resign him to a longer contract.

We won our first friendly 2-0 today against NK Maribor and even better, the new guys Stancu and Szekely scored

too bad I can't find the goals anywhere. nice to see Mustata and Ochirosii start . and the stats say that Tiago Gomes only missed one pass in the first half . hoping that at least one of the friendlies gets broadcasted.

We're getting the magic mullet of Toja!!! I've watched him at FC Dallas (MLS team) and I always thought he was a very good player. Definitely a good signing for us.

man I really hope we get a right-back, knowing our luck with injuries Golanski sure won't be fit the whole season and it seems that Petre Marin is starting to go downhill.

I'm watching the match against Red Bull Salzburg and man Dayro and Szekely are studs! The speed they add to our game is unbelievable. Stancu had a poor first half but I know he's a better player than what he showed. Our weak links are obviously Nicolita who for some reason continues to start even though he loses most of the balls he receives and wastes cross after cross. Petre Marin definitely has no place in the starting line-up, his offensive runs always leave us completely blank at the back. Lovin had an pretty good first half so I won't diss on him.

I'm really liking what Tiago is giving us as well, a steady smart player in the center of midfield who does both the offensive and the defensive parts of the game. Good player

we all knew about Dayro but Szekely and Tiago are definetly good additions to our squad. and I'm sure Stancu will adapt quickly too. it's also good to see that Petre Marin's suspension has been called off, would have been a shame for him to retire like that after he gave so much for Steaua.

man that second half was horrible. we really have no bench. with surdu, neaga, neagoe, ionescu, badea, rada all in at once we could be one of the worst teams in liga 1, that was just a horrible display. tiago looked completely lost in the second half with no players around him.

Genoa is interested in Ghionea it seems. out of all of our central defenders, he's the one I really don't want us to sell. one of the best defenders in Liga 1, can't find any old school sweepers like him and he's part of the old guard at Steaua.

Hmmm... Ghionea is good, but he can leave, because he has an age, and he could try his luck abroad. But Goian is really good... We will miss him if he leaves... But I don't like what he said!
About the Salzburg match, it's not such a big deal. The score is not rellevant, and we played good in the first half. Dayro Moreno and Szekely were absolutely fantastic. I'm pretty disappointed with Stancu, but he is young and still learning. I can't wait to see Arthuro!

Tichetele se vor vinde concomitent cu abonamentele pentru sezonul 2008-2009, iar suporterii care si-au achizitionat deja abonamente vor primi o reducere de 20% pentru cumpararea biletelor.

He wanted to leave and he asked our owner to let him go at the first offer that Steaua got. A rift happened between him and our fans in the second half of last season and he was very dissapointed towards the fans and said it was his wish to leave so we let him go for 2 million euros even though I believe he's worth more. I hope he does great things at Catania.

Lovin has been sent to Steaua II for apparently showing dissent towards Laca. I find that hard to believe as he always seemed like a pretty chill and relaxed guy on the pitch. He was way too streaky anyway so in a way I'm glad he's gone but now we need another central midfielder. Hopefully that Spanish guy from Murcia will come.

I'd be so happy if Lovin left, together with Surdu and Nicolita. he is decent and has his good moments but he's no Steaua material. Surdu on the other hand was CFR's top scorer and didn't do anything for us, yet he'd deserve another season, seeing that he played little and was used as a midfielder. Nicolita's case shouldn't even be brought up, good guy but 0 as a player, should have left us long time ago.


Neaga should really get in form this season or else he'd be no different than all of the above. 34 games and 2 goals is ****e really even for a winger/attacking midfielder or whatever. Badea might be leaving to Urziceni, again same as the above. honestly I don't see them rediscoreving their form this season but hey...


weird thing is, some of these players used to be good, don't know what happened. you could add Iacob to the mix but he left, same with Oprita, and even Dica.

I disagree about Surdu, he has proven himself time and time again to be absolutely horrendous. I don't care if you get 10 minutes of playing time or you play every minute of every match, when you come on you have to prove that you belong on a team like Steaua and he has not and I don't see why he ever will.

I disagree with you about Nicolita. I think if the guy can ever hit the form that he had the year we had that UEFA Cup run then he would definitely belong on that roster. Go back and watch some of those matches and see how much influence he had on them. I think the own goal at Real Madrid just killed his confidence and he hasn't been able to recover since then, which is pretty bad for a professional player but I guess it just shows his lack of mental ability.

I would keep both Neaga and Badea just because I think they can be effective coming off the bench sometimes which is really all you can ask for a sub. I really feel for Badea because when we first got him he was very promising and was showing some amazing attacking skills but just like Nicolita it just doesn't seem like he has any confidence now when he steps on the pitch.

Cristocea and Croitoru are released of any contract with Steaua and Steaua II, as far as I know they're both looking for jobs.

I think if we get that Spanish guy from Murcia he will take the number 10 although I would like to see Dayro take on that responsibility. I was really happy to see Arthuro take 11, that's a great striker number and I hadn't even realized that we didn't have it before they announced that would be his number.

PS: Do you think they'll unveil the new kits in the AS Roma match at the end of July? I find it hard to believe that we would continue with the same kits for three years running. I doubt Nike would allow that. Let's hope that we do because frankly I'm tired of the current ones and that horrible font.

They sad at the match with Salzburg that they will present the new kits with Roma. Thats good but i have a feeling that the new ones will look only a bit changed from the other ones. Perhaps they will find a better away kit. Does any one know why Steaua isn't changing their kit every season like other teams and only after 2 years?
